Good idea for a Poll, Brother Teich.
Aldon Smith is my answer, though of course I'm hoping he's there at 17...or even a bit later.
Robert Quinn would get my second vote IF he beats the odds and impresses the HELL out'f Coach Bill at the interview.
Cameron Jordan would leapfrog Quinn ~ and possibly Smith, though not likely ~ IF I become persuaded, between now and then, that Nolan Nawrocki's and Mayo Clinic's notion that he might be the guy to burn off 10 Pounds and recapture that old Willie Mac HeffaLump Magic!!
The other guys I wouldn't touch until they were long gone.
13 would be right around when the blue chippers would be gone, so if there's one that fits our system, it could be worth the trade-up.
I think Minnesota at 12 might be interested, as they get their 3rd back and can take Mallett at 17.
It'd be a miracle if Dareus or Peterson were there though. I might have a heart attack during the draft if that unfolds.
If life teaches us anything....its that guys GAIN weight out of college not lose it. And WTF is a heffalump??

The old elephant position...Willie McGinest ring a bell?
I would absolutely move up to 13 to draft Julio Jones, in fact I actually had that trade in my last mock. I think Detriot is the perfect trading partner because they don't have much reason not to move down and pick up the extra pick. They are most likely to go OLB or CB in round 1, and I dont think any of the players they will be targeting at 13 are targets for the teams at 14,15 or 16. So they should still be able to get their guy at 17 and pick up and extra pick. And if Jones gets past Washington at 10 he is almost a lock to go 14 to the Rams, so 13 is the perfect spot to trade up to.
Out of the other guys in the pole, the only others I think will be available at 13 are Ingram and Amukamara, and I dont think they are worth moving up for. Jones is a perfect fit for the Pats, and while he may not be the DE which most people want, I think he offers the biggest offensive impact for the Pats than any player in the draft.
Sorry, if I'm taking a WR at 13, it has nothing to do with his blocking ability.
I've listed 9 players. Add Bowers, Fairley, Newton and Gabbert, and at least 2 of the list are available at 12 and at least one at 13. I don't expect any of these players to be available at 17.
There seems to be a couple of likely trade partners. It seems that the question before the house is not whether any of the blue chippers will be left to trade up for. The question is which are we interested in.
Obviously, this poll will be repeated after the combine and as we get even closer to the draft.
IMHO, we should all be willing to move down from 17. The question is whether it will be worth moving up from 17. I think that the "correct" answer is only for someone we consider to be a blue chipper who we think will fit in to our systems.

Oh.
So it's not 50% of a lump?
