It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Theres alot of depth at LB in this draft so im not surprised we didnt grab one on day 1. Im happy with Chung and Butler. Solid picks to help solidify our secondary. Brace is a great pick up. He can go in on third downs to give Wilfork the rest for the run plays. Volmer is questionable but i trust BB and who he chooses.
Tomorrow, I can see us picking up Jaron Gilbert DE and an OLB and trade two of them for next years 2nd round picks.
BB has never cut a draft pick that was taken higher than the 5th round during their 1st camp.
That's good info. They really need to trade out imo
DE, ILB, OG, OLB
Jarron Gilbert, Jason Williams, Liugs or TJ Lang or Trevor Caufield, Lawrence Sidbury.
EDIT: I would not be surprised to see the Pats keep all 3 picks tradeable 3rd round picks because of the status of the CBA at the end of the 2009 season.
Can't trade out if no one wants to trade with you. People could be looking at the Pats and saying, "Scr*w them. Let them cut some good players"
I really really like Sudbury, that's why I'm sure the Pats won't pick him, lol.
Gilbert must have some shortcoming not widely known - or what I've been reading has been total junk. I've only seen his video clips but what I've seen looks good, his pre-draft assessments put him mostly in the second round, so this seems like a slip for a dude with his size and skills. Maybe we shouldn't get him?
My knock on Gilbert is that he is not a 3-4 DE like some people seem to think. He would need to gain 20lbs which is tough to do anyway, and doing so he would not be the same player. I see him more in the Jarvis Green mold as a big man who excels rushing the passer.
