Its great seeing #75 locked up for the next few years.. And this got me to thinking.. Last year during the Pats and Dolphins game, we saw Vince moved to RDE to combat Pat White running the wildcat.. I dont' have stats or video of the game but I recall him basically shutting down the side and getting to the backfield quite a bit..
What are the chances, in a deep NT draft or Jamal Williams sitting out there, of Vince moving to the position next and bringing in a new NT?
My reasoning is:
1. Wilfork is a big guy but definitely athletic and i know it was only one game but he played great during that game
2. The draft is deep at the position and bringing in a Cody, Williams or Price would save us money in the long run because DT make less than DE.. And we have wilfork signed up as a NT for the next 5 years.. So in the Grand Scheme, we probably are saving money
3. Nagta plays the same position and along with Kelly, make up one of the best front 3 in football..
Just some food for thought..
