I love Dunkin Donuts! As a Canadian who's coming down for Pats vs. Jets game November 13th, I'll be bring a few pounds of coffee grains back with me, and some Sam Adams of course!

Getting back to topic, Mass fans have been really lucky to have witnessed so many championships in the last 9 years and maybe with the struggles of the Pats and Sox, they can step back realize how lucky they've had it.

I didn't think line 5 was very fair. Its not just Boston fans who think Cassel sucks. Go to any message board, for any NFL team, and ask if Cassel sucks. I am sure it will be unanimous. Besides that.............great post.

That's just the thing. Living outside of Boston, nobody really gives a damn about Matt Cassel. So I wouldn't say it's the world... unless of course you think the world revolves around Boston.

speaking of Dunkin Donuts, I finally found one in Lawrence,KS. The Indian dude who owned the place promised me there are plans in the works to opne about 50 of them in the KC area. And theres a sub shop chain called Jersey Mikes that just opened here in Olathe that's ALMOST as good as D'Angelos.

But the baaastahhhds dont make the Crabmeat Subs or the Chicken Salad subs i used to get at D'Angelos. Seafood sucks here, chinese food sucks, BUT the meat is incredible in KC. You can get a steak at any IHOP here better than anything in Boston.

To be honest, when it comes to Boston fans (the topic of this thread), I don't know that it's being spoiled so much as still being incredibly cynical and bitter from all the heartbreak from the Sox before 04. It's the opposite of spoiled, a lot of people are just really, really pessimistic and hard.

People who are exclusively or mainly Pats fans (typically non-Bostonians) or new fans don't have that excuse, though.

I still have bitterness from before 01 with the Pats. That kind of imprinting doesn't go away quickly. It's like an old glove you find after it's been in the closet seven years. It's amazing how quickly it feels comfortable again.

I was born in 1970, and know many many years of Pats/Sox heartbreak. (Celtics, OTOH, were the saving grace in my teens).

I try to fight it, to not be that a-hole Boston guy. I think I need a 12 step program for Boston sports fans with residual PTSD.

I went to grad school in San Diego, and was horrified at the lack of Dunkin' Donuts. Bunch of freaking smoothie franchises instead. It was culture shock. What I missed most of all was the 'X' House of Pizza (where X is your town's name). Every town in New England has it, and it always seems to be amazing thin greasy pizza.

OK sorry to derail with my high-brow culinary tastes.

Be sure to try Moxie. It's the New England standard in soda. Beware, it isn't actually very good. I brought a whole case to San Diego and forced everyone at a party to drink it. They never forgave me. It tastes like a mixture of root beer, and betadine.
