Trade deadline thread

If I’m BB unless I’m is blown away with an offer id keep Mac and let him finish the season no matter what for better or worse. At least then I know what I have with Mac for sure and then I can take into 2024 some knowledge about what I need from the offense.

If the team decides Mac just needs weapons then I hope they have enough picks to move up and get Marvin Harrison Jr. That would be nice. if the team feels Mac isn’t the guy then don’t pick up his option and go QB shopping.
Please Stop we should be DONE WITH FLOATER BALLS MAC!

If we had a real alternative on the roster they would be done with him. Shame that we don’t.

We’ll get a close look next Sunday at who would have likely been our starter this season if they didn’t pick Zappe last year instead of him.

I think they were done with Mac right around the first half of the Saints game, maybe earlier. Unfortunately at 2-6 you arent making the playoffs. To get some sort of ROI on MJ, you have to play him and hope he shows something. Then you are in the unsavory position of potentially winning games and softening your draft position for the next guy. Mac Jones pick alone has set this franchise back 5yrs bare minimum. But, when you dont have a qb thats the game you are playing.

Sell Sell Sell..is more about getting playing time for younger players and covert tanking to maximize draft position than getting significant draft capital. No one the pats are thinking of trading will bring a premium pick (first, second or high third).

I know just the guy the Pats need to bring in to get great trades done. He came up with a way for the Yankees to get Griffey Jr. and Barry Bonds without giving up too much!

FWIW, if they offered a first, I'd take it. Anything less than a 2 would be F off territory.
For who Mac I can't throw outside the numbers Jones?? We would be lucky to get 5th not even Josh McDaniels want that Broken Lob specialist Mac Jones.

If Sam Darnold could fetch a 2 and more after three seasons, and Trey Lance a 4 after doing nothing, I don't see why Jones can't fetch a 2 as well.

Agreed. All it takes is one team. The return better be good or no deal.

I have no interest whatsoever in watching Bailey Zappe start the last 9 games and I doubt the team does either. They’ll learn nothing for 2024 from that. So any trade that leaves us with no QB for the rest of the season needs to be worth their while.

Send Mac and his noodle arm to Minnesota for a conditional 7th rounder, commit to the tank and actually fixing this problem.

They're too happy to plod along and get Bill the record, rip the band aid off.

Coaches think they can make adjustments to correct player issues all the time. It’s quite possible another team thinks Mac could be a contributor in a different offensive scheme and behind an OL that can run block and pass protect.

Darnold is better than Noodle arm Mac... Zack Wilson > Mac Jones yeah he's that bad.

You can't be serious I can name four QB's in College right now that I would confidently take over Mac and it's not even close.
