It is truly embarassing to watch games with people who don't like the Patriots. When we got it, ahead by 6, with around 3 minutes to go, I knew we were going to lose.
When we are ahead by fewer than 7, and get the ball with 3-4 minutes, we lose. We do the following:
a) Go 3 and out because of horrible play calling and execution.
b) Give up ridiculous pass plays on double covered players.
c) Give up a touchdown.
d) Lose
It's almost like watching a car crash you know is about to happen, you want to look away but cannot do it.
time to bring some fresh minds from outside. promoting from with in has done jack squat so far.
the big question is, wil BB's ego allow that ??
Even if our secondary was made up of all Revis's, we would still get torched especially if QB's know what to look for in your coverage.
We all knew...the whole world knew that the Seahawks would be attempting a longer downfield throw on their last possession.
The whole damn world knew, and yet they could do absolutely nothing.
There was little devoted on the secondary in the offseason other than that JAG Gregory.
I am not sure if there was a good talent in this years FA crops but if there was some,Belichick slept on it thinking an improved front 7 would put a bandaid on that area and cover up severe deficiencies......it hasn't yet.
no they wont because you critizize the pats you are banned and black marked on this site...
The problem with the secondary is the coaches teach the DB's to play the hands of the receivers, not the football. Belichick admitted this on WEEI last week.
Most coaches teach their DB's to locate the ball when your in the receivers hip pocket.
The patriots get pass interference penalties because qbs slightly underthrow the deep ball, consequently the reciever slows down or stops and go vertical to make a play on the ball. a db playing the hands of the reciever and not the ball runs into the reciever making the play on the ball.
the problem with this team is not lack of talent. Its coaching.
darius butler in his first year turned his head and made plays on the football. a year later he's a bust
devin mccourty in year 1 stuck to recievers hip pocket and located the football in the air. now hes nearing bust territory.
the patriots need to re evaluate their strategy for the secondary. the techniques they teach to the corners leads to the regression of promising talent like mccourty and butler.
if the techniques dont work switch it up
