I think that most of us would have liked a WR, with the Navy LS drafted in the 7th.

This will only be Derby's second year of playing TE. He had a play last year where he outran the Alabama defense that was really impressive. Was a very solid #2 TE for a guy still learning the position.

With all the fans reading out picks for their teams, a funny thought popped into my head.

Imagine one of our awesome draft forum posters winning a lottery to draft for the Pats

Mayo/manx/wilfork75/midwest steps up to the podium, takes a look at the card with some crazy pick, and thinks 'f*** this'

"With the 247th pick in the 2015 NFL draft, the New England Patriots select Tre McBride, WR, William & Mary"

At CB, I agree...once the top players were gone, maybe they saw the rest as scrubs. Plus the top guys all had concerns too.

Surprised on the WR front though, I would have like to see some competition, at least. They certainly looked at enough WRs in the scouting process, just look at the contact list...

pc predicted this last week. I suspect that Belichick viewed very rookie corners to be better than what we have.

RE: Derby and blocking.. Let's give him time with DeGugliemo and DaBoll and the conditioning unit before we go writing him off as not being able to block.. It wasn't really asked of him at Arkansas..

Deceptive and against the spirit of the rules. The competition committee will be taking a long look at it.
Speaking of which, what's the news on deceptionpickgate from the other night? I think it's only fair the Patriots forfeit the Malcom Brown pick and he can sign with any team he likes as long as it's an AFC team residing in New Jersey as well as the Patriots losing a first round pick next year as well.

What are you talking about? Long snappers who cannot play for 3 years are valuable commodities.

Somebody needs to get the story straight with the LS, somebody said Denver had a military player last year who got to play right away. Mike Reiss needs to get us the inside scoop.

He's from UNH what can you except? :p He woulda learned better here at UMaine.

I'm sure the educators at UMaine are bursting with pride reading that post.

I was mistaken.. He will probably have to wait 2 years..

I'm really wondering what has everyone scared off of Tre McBride. Is he like that one WR from a year or two ago that was projected to go 3rd round and went undrafted?? (can't remember his name)

I'm not sure if you're thinking of Chris Polk but he was a RB that had injury concerns. I posted a similar comment earlier.

I've been ripping my hair out wishing for McBride thus far... Since about round 4, pick 2.
