Haven't the Patriots and their players been involved in some charity basketball games around the region over the years? I definitely remember them from when I was a kid (a long time ago, granted) and thought I'd seen some references to these games in recent hears.

First, it was a GIRL on twitter.

Second, after the Jets completely whiffed on last years draft (their best pick was a back up FB) and their third round pick this year might be playing in the Virginia Prision System League in 2012, you should be more worried about your Jets' picks and not the Pats' picks.

B-ball is still bull-****... Didn't a big time player get effed up early this year (broken knee cap or blown out knee) or some sh!T? Whoever said charity games they are half paced half effort things. Backyard ball is much more competitive. I do hope it's the friend thing and not a b-ball injury

I have to agree. How many NFL players don't play a game of basketball at some point in the offseason? In fact, my guess is that the reason you hear about bball injuries so much is simply because it's the most popular offseason athletic activity. If everybody in the league were, say, going ice climbing or cave diving or racing motocross, the consequences would be far, far worse.

Or to put it another way...you know how everybody raves about all the soccer Welker puts in to improve his footwork? If tomorrow he tears his achilles playing soccer, does that mean he's been an idiot all along?
