LeGarrette Blount scored 10 of his 18 rushing touchdowns from the 1 yard line with Brady at QB this season. Now why is this little stat important? Because Tom Brady doesn't care if he throws 0 TD passes in a game or 5 TD in a game, it's never about him and all he cares about is winning. The insane numbers he racks up just happen because of his greatness and not because of his desire to break passing records. Funny thing is he'll end up breaking every record because he's simply better than anyone else.
I believe the opposite was the case with Peyton. Ignore the blatant stat padding years before and just take his 55 TD season. The situations where he was throwing the ball from virtually the goal line to buffer his numbers was outrageous but the media ignored it as if he didn't have that noodle arm and not to mention the majority of his numbers was due to outstanding receiving that year. The reason i bring up Blount is because i ask you this, would he have anything close to 10 of those 1 yard rush TD's behind Manning? The answer is no and i doubt he would have even had 3.
Everyone knows it ate him alive that Brady's '07 was better than anything he could ever accomplish in a regular season so he did everything in his power to make sure he broke it..... and then got absolutely annihilated in the SB..... and then Brady went and stomped that same defense the season after to get another ring........ in the 4th Quarter no less.
TB12 will most likely break most passing records set and it will occur naturally as opposed to the way Peyton did it where he literally threw it non stop just to break Favre, ignoring those backs he had who were pretty damn good themselves.
Tom could easily have had himself another 6+ TD's this season but he never baulked at handing off the ball to his work horse Blount who himself coincidentally smashed the Pats single season rushing TD record.
