He is mechanically flawed and an awful decision maker. The only difference is that San Diego has a couple of ridiculously talented players to help cover all of his deficiencies.
I've never seen a less talented player getting into refs faces and acting with so much false bravado.
He is a horrible QB. But he's another punk like the rest of that team so he's a perfect fit.
I honestly hate that team more than I hate the Colts. They have rubbed me the wrong way since 2005.

The past few years we've seen an absolute parade of 1st-round QBs not developing as hoped. Look at the miserable performance of guys like Losman, Young, Smith, etc. Of the dozen top-rated QBs in the league, 4 were drafted in the past 5 years:
1 in the first round
2 on the second day
1 a UDFA
Pretty darned lousy rate, that. Normally you'd say "well sure, that's because they were picked by bad teams!" But that's just not the case here. Guys like Rivers and Young are weak links on teams with good defensive talent.
I read Bruschi's book a few weeks ago, and there was a certain passage that comes to mind. He was talking about the divisional playoff game last year, and said that Rivers was the biggest talker of all of them. Although, he said Vrabes shut him up with, "You'll never be Drew Brees. Never. We know it, and all the guys in that huddle know it."
College football and the NFL seem to be two different games, especially when it comes to quarterbacks. Still, it's shocking that scouts don't do a better job when you think of all the money involved.
(By the way, if you think that Young is a disappointment, what odds would you give Jamarcus Russell?)

why are his mechanics so bad??
Oh my God, no flag???!!!
That was soooo blatant. The refs blew that one.
