I love it. This guy is drawing comparisons to Jason Witten and is jacked to be a Patriot. He was, by far, the best player available at a position that had a giant hole in it. I see nothing wrong with it and hope they go back to defense with their next pick.

Luv it. Brady needs a pass catching TE.

Pats dont pick again until 58. 3rd pick will be a LB.

Lot of upside. Solid blocking.. needs to work on his blocking stance, but that's trivial. Downside is injury/illness and inability to adjust to poorly thrown balls, but.. that's Brady we have back there.

    Fills a need.

Celebrating as he did must have pissed off the Jets fans.

    Great pick.

if his back is really 100%, this is a good pick.

yeah... like it a LOT. The scenes with him and his family were intense, and him coming out with the helmet instead of a jersey was great.

I'm OK with it, but not thrilled. TE was clearly a need, but we could get by with JAGs too.
My concern is that we have a history of TEs with health issues and he has an injury background. I'm sure that was checked out.
If he turns into the kind of receiving weapon Watson should have been its great. If we don't use him that way, then I would have rather used the pick on D.

IMO the red-zone offense was a little weak last year. In addition, I thought the running game- while good was a finesse one (personal preference).
If Gronkowski can be a decent pass blocker as well, all the better.

If he pans out, great pick.

Supposedly, O'Brien wants to use the TE more in the offense this season. If true then this pick makes sense given our defensive needs.

    Me too.

In the Pats we trust re the medical issues, and otherwise it's a pick to love.
