The only challenge to that philosophy is sometimes work ethic can be taught and learned...sheer talent can't.
Yes. Not sure I'd associate a lack of work ethic to being a clubhouse cancer though. Can be linked but can be different as well.I'm sure there is a bottom line to work ethic before it is becomes a cancer. Maybe work ethic can be influenced and then realized by oneself rather than taught.
Don't believe it.
Why?
Coach K. had a 5 star recruit this year, with a 1 star work ethic.
He won the national championship.
Everyone considers this 5 star recruit to be the most skilled and talented player in the draft. Scouts though are warning: the kids work ethic is far below par, and in the NBA you have to bring it every single night. Which is why this kid, with the best talent in the draft, is not going to be the first pick.
I agree on the Coach K part. On the bringing every night in the NBA couldn't disagree more. Seems to me half the players mail it in any time it's not a prime time or "big" game.Don't believe it.

"Quote from a College of BB"
Those damn vowels. I hate it when I totally miss the "a" and the "u".
ust want to congratulate you on your great success in breaking the 1,000-win mark. I’d really like to just borrow a couple of those wins from you next year, Mike. You won’t miss them. It’s only a couple out of a thousand, but I could really use a couple at the right time.
Yeah not quite the same for college b ball. I'd probably take the five star recruit honestly.
Yep- The more McDonalds All-Americans you land the better your chances are of going to the Final Four.
