I'm in love with the idea of going for A. Thomas... and at the same time, I have this sinking feeling that he's going to be one of the jewels in free agency, and the Pats are not going to see him as worth the expenditure. Getting "one of the best" always takes the backseat to "getting a lot of good ones" for the Pats - unless you're talking about the super-elite best. Brady, Seymour. So far, that's the crew.
Does BB see that in Thomas? I don't know. Either he does, or he wants everybody reporting that he does, or he just feels like chit-chatting with a player he sees as a really good talent, a football guy, etc. So they clicked. That's all we've seen. It's better than if he scowled at him the whole game, sure. But again, that's it.
Of course, I'd love to be wrong. Assuming that BB's right. And he's more likely to be than I am. Did that make any sense? Eh screw it.
