According to Sportsbook.com you guys are 15 to 1 odds and the Colts are 25 to 1 odds to land TO. Oakland is the favorite to get him at 1 to 2 and the Eagles and Niners are at the bottom at 50 to 1. Just FYI.

Absolutely. I repeat absolutely. The guy is a warrior as evidenced by Super Bowl 38.

No player can hurt this team. If his deal is cap friendly then why not?

ProFootballTalk.com - THE ANTI-T.O. LIST

THE ANTI-T.O. LIST
Posted by Mike Florio on March 5, 2009, 11:17 a.m. EST

As we’re doing with Mike Vick, we’ll be keeping a running tally of all of the teams that have said ”thanks” followed immediately by “no thanks” to the possibility of signing receiver Terrell Owens.

Please note that this only reflects teams that already have said that they’re not interested:

The Dallas Cowboys. (Duh.)

The New York Giants.

The Washington Redskins.

The Baltimore Ravens.

The San Francisco 49ers.

The Minnesota Vikings.

The Atlanta Falcons.

The Cleveland Browns.

Here are the teams that likely will join the list soon:

The Philadelphia Eagles.

The Miami Dolphins
.

Yes, must bring TO at all costs.

You mean to the JETS of course. I'll second that. :rocker:

Chris Mortensen says 29/32 teams have no interest in Owens with the Raiders, Saints and Titans being the only teams who would be interested.

Also, an ESPN article concering the Patriots.

The T.O. Index is a scale from one to 100, factoring in three key criteria: whether the team needs a receiver (particularly a No. 1 target), whether a team would be willing to stomach Owens' act and whether the team could spend the money required to sign him.

New England Patriots (T.O. Index 22)

Receiver need: Low. They already have Randy Moss and Wes Welker. We saw what happened in Dallas when Owens didn't think he was getting enough attention from Tony Romo. The Patriots might need another receiver after losing Jabar Gaffney to free agency, but I think Moss and Owens on the same team with Tom Brady is against the Geneva Convention.

Tolerance level: Low. The Patriots preach concepts like team and system and accountability and, for the love of man, self-restraint.

Pockets: Deep, but mostly spoken for. The Patriots were so jammed against the cap they had to restructure Moss' contract to sign running back Fred Taylor and tight end Chris Baker. They have some breathing room that they've traded Matt Cassel and linebacker Mike Vrabel, but they won't be spending a chunk on a luxury item after sacrificing to free up the money.

Look if I were playing John Madden Football, sure I'd put Moss and TO on the same team. But real football is not a video game folks. It's not worth adding this cancer to the locker room no matter how talented he is. TO = Knucklehead. He's not Patriot Material. PERIOD.

Well said. There is no way that BB would keep this "talent" on his team. Come to think of it, TO doesnt even know what "team" is.

If there is one team that can put up with Owens' s***, it's the New England Patriots. In fact, since the market is so low, the Pats could offer him whatever they want. If Owens really wants to win a super bowl, he would take whatever offer the Pats give him and buy into the Patriot way or he will see the door. Say in a pipe dream the Pats take a chance and sign Owens. Do you really think he is going to bark at the media because of Tom Brady not giving him the ball enough? Only if Owens is that stupid. The Pats have such a strong locker room that if Owens picks a fight with one player, he is going up against the rest of the team. It's not like in Dallas, Philly and San Fran where he had a following and so many players looked up to him. Look, the Pats don't need Owens but it would make them look good on paper. Remember the rumors of when Moss came to New England, that if he started making waves, the Pats wouldn't hesitate to cut him. I think they can do the same thing with Owens. However, I honestly can't see Bob Kraft wanting to take a chance on this guy.

I dont see Bob Kraft taking a chance on him as well. I think we have a better mentality than TO can comprehend.

Another reason why I don't think they would want to take a chance is because of the media circus he would bring with him. It was hard enough for the Pats to get over the spy gate saga, so I don't think they want to go through that again.

FYI-Mort was only speculating-which he all but admitted when he talked about this on NFL Live.

So what if the Redskins adamently said they have no interest in him? What do you expect Snyder to say? "Well...I NEED my Fantasy Points, and BADLY!"?

If anything-it wouldn't surprise me at all if for one year, and ONE YEAR that Owens will gladly put a chip on his shoulder, and go to some contending team for a ONE YEAR MINIMUM to prove everyone wrong. It wouldn't surprise me if he goes to the Chargers b/c they DO play Dallas this year.

Maybe T.O. comes here with the realization he doesn't have many years left, stays on his best behaviour with a chance to win a ring. Time will tell I guess...

I'm 95% against this. The last 5% would be only if they signed him to pennies and forbid him from talking to the media for the entire year without exception.

I think it would work out for a year. Why? Because BB and Brady are assertive field generals! Wade and Romo are not. The Patriots are owned by a guy who isn't going to meddle in football operations. So, first sign of issues the Pats would cut TO's @$$ without question. Unlike the dragged out circus led by the ringmaster Jerry Jones. REMEMBER T.O. would need the Patriots more than the Pats need T.O.

Now, the only way it would work for the year is having Kraft, BB, Brady, Moss, Welker, Teddy, ADT, ETC. being on the same page and unanimously willing to give T.O. a shot.

The most confusing issue though is T.O. himself. When i watch him i just don't know what he wants out of his career. Does he want to win? Does he want the ball? Does he want the stats? I just don't know!

At the end of the day, T.O. is NOT coming to New England, it's fun to entertain the idea on here but the money issue would never be right. However, i do think that BB would embrace a situation like this. I think he'd like the title of being the guy to finally get T.O. to work out with a team. Let's be honest if the Patriots today couldn't make it work than there is no team in the history of the NFL that T.O. would be able to exist on.

What do i know though? I'm just some college kid on an online forum!:D

Absolutely. We DO NOT WANT another circus in this town. TO would bring that regardless of any contract limitations we put in place....

No way, no how, NO T.O.!

It's really a shame the guy has so much talent but insists on being such a dink. I want this guy nowhere NEAR New England.

P.S. It would be fun, however, to see what would happen when he tried to convince Randy to let him wear #81... ;)

The Patriots can only reinforce their brand image if they would get him to sign at a short term incentive laden contract. The potential benefits FAR outweigh the potential negatives. They have become known as the team that can fix malcontents (Dillon, Moss). If they succeed for a year with a behaved Owens they are geniuses, if they have to cut him they are demonstrating their commitment to TEAM. They would be the last to give him a real chance at a championship. Their legacy would remain untarnished. Plus because he would not be the focus of the offense it wouldn't hurt them so much. There is so much grumbling on here but I think we all know there is enough Patriot loyalty where nobody would stop supporting the team. I would even say team royalties would fly through the roof. This is business.
