Ok, I need to address this. I don't care if this belongs in the political forum or not. Some things need to be said.
"Why aren't they?"
"Why aren't they?" Are you that ignorant or just unbelievably hateful?
You ask "Why aren't they?" Well,
THEY ARE. They are dying by the tens of thousands fighting against ISIL on the ground and you have the fuc.king nerve to say that they aren't doing enough. They have been displaced by the millions from their homes, trying desperately to flee to safety. And the ones who get there, to some form of "safety" are still under threat of constant terror attacks by ISIL in the forms of suicide bombings and mass shootings on a daily basis the likes of which make what happened in France look like childs play.
Less than 18 months ago ISIL stormed across Syria and into Iraq, conquering Mosul, Ramadi, Tikrit, and coming within a hairs breath of reaching Baghdad before a combination of logistical issues and a desperate resistance by unorganized, ill equipped, but desperate men and woman in mish-mash bands of militia finally stopped their advance. For months in Southern Iraq these rag tag groups of militias held the line, fighting against an ISIL army that was equipped with captured advanced armor and weaponry. Their only real support for months was coming from Iran of all places. Iran if you conveniently have forgotten is a Muslim country. This Popular Mobilization Force, numbering nearly one-hundred thousand strong and consisting of Shiite and Sunni Muslims fighting alongside each other with Iraqi Christians held the line for months while the shattered and utterly broken Iraqi Army tried desperately to regroup. At the same time In Northern Iraq the Peshmerga, Iraqi Kurds who ISIL have viciously massacred with chemical weapons, numbering over one-hundred thousand strong have been fighting to protect their ancestral homeland against further ISIL incursion. For months they held the line east of Mosul. For months these two main anti-ISIL forces held ISIL back during their seemingly unstoppable highwater mark. US and allied air Strikes have been an incredible help in blunting ISIL counter offensives and in dislodging strong points but the men and women who are dying fighting ISIL are all Muslims. When things looked their worst the Muslim people of Iraq, both Shiite and Sunni, banded together to desperately resist ISIL. ISIL controlled nearly 40% of Iraq but these anti-ISIL Musilms were not going to just sit by idly and allow them to murder their people and destroy their way of life.
Flash forward to today and while you sit where ever the f.uck you are and find it in your cold heart to accuse Muslims of not doing their part in fighting ISIL nearly a quarter of a million men and women of the newly rejuvenated Iraqi Army are on the move fighting to push back ISIL out of central Iraq. Well trained, well equipped, and motivated as all hell they have , over the last year, have fought battle after battle, driving ISIL out of their strongholds, seeing their own cities utterly destroyed by ISIL in the process. You need only to look at the horrible pictures of Ramadi to see the terrible cost that comes with fighting ISIL. A cost that Musilm forces on the ground are willing to pay so as to defeat this terrible scourge. The Iraqi Army, now leading the Southern Front's advance since the People's Mobilization Forces are no longer needed as front line troops, have advanced hundreds of kilometers north and are about to link up with the Peshmerga forces to entrap ISIL forces in central Iraq and slowly but surely advance on Mosul. The Peshmerga for their part have steadily advanced west toward Mosul, driving off multiple counter offensives by ISIL, and are nearly at the point to begin the final drive toward liberating the city. Once that occurs the military backbone of ISIL in Iraq will be broken and their positions in the country will likely become untenable. It is very likely that we will see a complete military collapse of remaining ISIL forces within Iraq in the event of the liberation of Mosul. A tremendous victory that tens of thousands of Muslims gave their lives to even see a chance at achieving. ISIL is getting their ass kicked in Iraq and we have the combined forces of hundreds of thousands of Musilm men and women at arms to thank for that.
Meanwhile in Syria the Kurdish SDF have spent the past year advancing west along the Turkish border driving ISIL out of village after village. Tens of thousands of men and women have driven ISIL to the brink of disaster by not only squeezing them into a small pocket on the Turkish border but also advancing southward within spitting distance of the the ISIL capital of Al-Raqqah and the city of De Ezzor where anti-ISIL Syrian forces have been holding out behind enemy lines for months now. The SDF has advanced tens of kilometers in a matter of days toward these objectives. Back in the north the SDF have liberated the city of Komadi from ISIL, a battle that took months and has been reffered to as "Syria's Stalingrad." Over 3,000 ISIL fighters were killed in this one battle alone.
Here is the aftermath of the battle.
Take a hard look at that and again tell me that Muslims aren't doing their part in combating ISIL.
Even the Syrian Government under Assad, as horrible as he personally is, has been beating back ISIL, taking back huge swaths of the city of Aleppo trapping mass amounts of ISIL forces east of the city. They have also advanced eastwards across the Iraqi border taking key border crossings, cutting off vital supply lines to ISIL forces in Iraq.
Between the Kurds in the North and the Syrian Government its essentially a race to see which force takes back central Syria from ISIL. It's not a question of if but simply who takes what at this point.
ISIL is getting their asses handed to them in both Syria and Iraq. They are losing territory at an incredible rate and experiencing unsustainable losses in both personnel and equipment. Desertion rates among front line troops climbing. Meanwhile high up leaders are fleeing across the border into god knows where while they still can.
The war on the ground is being won by millions of Muslims from dozens of different cultures and sects of the religion, all united either officially by pact or by necessary convenience against the evil that is ISIL. And they are winning.
So don't you fu.cking dare parrot that crap that Muslims aren't condemning ISIL or doing enough to stop them. They are doing
everything that could be asked from them and more. They are fighting by the millions and dying by the tens of thousands. 99.99% of people killed by ISIL are Muslims but ignorant people don't seem to want to accept that I guess.
It's 5 am and I can barely keep my eyes open, otherwise I would have written a post twice as long as this with much more detail. So please excuse the grammatical errors and run on sentences as well. But this will have to do for now. And FFS before I pass out lets address the rest of your post. Every single god damn time there is a Muslim terrorist attack every single Muslim organization comes out in full condemnation of it in no uncertain terms. Every single damn time. But that's not enough for bigoted people. To them I guess every single Musilm needs to approach their nearest Christian church and prostrate themselves at the door begging for forgiveness. Meanwhile some Christian shoots up a Planned Parenthood and there is no call for any church to condemn that. How about you get every single Southern Evangelical to sign a pledge condemning the firebombings of abortion clinics or the assassinations of abortion doctors. How about you get them to sign a pledge condemning the "pray the gay away" camps that is tantamount to torture where kids are killing themselves because of the abuse they suffer at the churches hand. Are you going to demand that? No, of course not.
Anyway, maybe before making blanket statements about the largest armed conflict currently occurring in the world today how about you actually find out the details about it. Who is fighting who and who is winning. Unless you are afraid that the facts won't fit your awful narrative that you've built up in your head.
So I'm gonna call a spade a spade. You are a bigot who doesn't know at all about what he is talking about. Your profound ignorance of both Islam as a religion and the conflicts that the religion is currently involved in is staggering. And the absolutely unfair double standards you are exhibiting are disgusting. You talk about the need for so called "Moderate Muslims" to go far and beyond what anyone else would ever be expected to do just to appease your messed up desires. Know what a "Moderate Muslim" is called? A Muslim.
