Re: Steve Sabol passes

RIP Steve.

I am glad that Steve got to see his Dad, Ed Sabol go into the HOF.

I grew up watching their great shows. Steve didn't have any children, no Sabol's
left to carry on the NFL Films tradition.

Re: Steve Sabol passes

Sabol was a great man and an NFL icon

R.I.P. S.S.

Re: Steve Sabol passes

I associate so much history with this voice. Man is cemented in nfl lore. I think i could pass on to the afterlife secure and content knowing I secured such a legacy. Peace to the family in this sad time for them. He seemed to live a rich full life. He will be missed.

Re: Steve Sabol passes

RIP Steve Sabol.

Condolences to the Sabol family.

Today, the NFL lost a visionary.

Re: Steve Sabol passes

I read an obit that said

"Sabol is survived by his wife, Penny, his son Casey, his parents Audrey and Ed (who is 96) and his sister Blair."

NFL Films' President Steve Sabol succumbs to cancer

Good, glad to be wrong I had read some years ago that he was the end of the road for the Sabol/NFL dynasty.

I remember when I was a kid watching their weekly show, the voice of the great John Facenda they brought to us all the way through NFL Matchup.

Re: Steve Sabol passes

I just heard. R.I.P., Mr. Sabol. You were one of the voices of my childhood. :(

Re: Steve Sabol passes

That Voice will be missed.

R.I.P.

This death really saddens me. Steve Sabol is one of my sports heroes! He & NFL Films are 100% greatness. As a kid I LOVED watching NFL Films highlights and listening to Steve's descriptions.

RIP to a true NFL and TV legend.

terrible - very sorry

Very sad news. Steve Sabol was a giant, an icon. Made the NFL the media monster it is today. Was so awesome he got his wish, to see his Dad inducted into the HOF before he passed.

A great loss to the NFL and to all those who were close to him...
R.I.P. Steve Sabol. You will be missed.

Aww, this is very sad news:(

I wasn't sure who he was but then i figured out he was the NFL films guy, and that sucks to lose him!
