This is a sad day for the NFL, and the league is lessened by his loss.

    Re: Steve Sabol passes

RIP Steve. I am bummed by this news.

He was pioneer that revolutionized the NFL with NFL films.

There isn't a NFL fan who doesn't love NFL films.

I remember as a kid looking forward to Saturday afternoons to watch NFL films. This was during a time when the only NFL you would see is the Sunday games, and Monday Night Football. Nothing else. No Sunday night football, no ESPN, no NFL Channel. NFL Films was the only glimse I had outside of the Sunday and Monday night football.

Rest in peace. John Facenda is about the only person approaching the level of the Sabols with his iconic voice.

    RIP to Steve Sabol.

Without the Sabols and NFL Films the sport would be nowhere near what it is today.

The impprtance of what they did is huge. The fact that they did it with such joy and fun is tremendous. They had a great sense of humor and let it show on a few specials.

The sabols are second only to Edison for what they have done to sports on television.

    My experience as well.

NFL films were a big deal growing up in the 70s and 80s.

    RIP Mr. Sabol.

    Re: Steve Sabol passes

Few people in the world can ever look back and realize they changed something forever. Steve and his Dad did just that with how they viewed - and presented - the game of professional football.

RIP Steve, thank you,...... you were a great person and made a wonderful contribution to the NFL fans everywhere.
