How cute, Mangold trying to be funny like Welker

Per his twitter:

Wes Welker is a great player. He's really benefited from watching film. If we dont keep a Spy on him. He could really open the Gate.

HAha see what the long haired fatty did their. He used film, spy, and gate.
Those Jets Are so funny.

Those guys wish they were the Pats.

Sounds like a knee-jerk response to me...
Let's just hope for a good game, and that our RB's can hit all three holes. :D

I really hope that when the Pats O needs an inch they take a foot!

Re: How cute, Mangold trying to be funny like Welker

Oh my god that is beyond lame.

i thought welker and mangold's were both funny

i think some of you people lack a sense of humor

Comedy 101-How to Deliver a Comeback- Sure, I can see where a 5th grade level comeback like this can be considered funny when it is fired right back after Welker's response, but the problem is that comedy is all about timing. Mangold apparently heard about Welker's little joke, went home and asked his father for a good comeback and then went to school the next day and blurted it out when the original joke had come and gone. That pretty much sums up the mentality found in the Jets locker room....very similar to a 5th grade schoolyard at recess.

Jest's fans will think this lame joke is the greatest thing, they arent too bright.

Exactly what I was thinking. While Wes' remarks were done subtly, with intelligence, the Jets just responded like doofus.

The difference here is Mangold didn't win 50 bucks from 6 of the guys in his locker room.

If Pats win, maybe they'll celebrate with a trip. Maybe around the world ...

Missing the point boys:

Mangold wasn't trying to be funny.

He's telling the Pats that Welker's little comedy routine attacking Rex and his wife hasn't gone unnoticed by the Jet's locker room.

oh thanks....we hadn't figured that out.

It would have been a lot better if he came out with it an hour or two after the Welker presser.

yeah....but that would imply he is smart enough to come up with it on his own.

I make one little joke and Pats fans get their panties so in a bunch that one person told me to kill myself. Stay classy Foxborough!

Insulting Rex's wife? Whaaaa...? Now if WWW had said:

"When you look at the tape, with all the injuries they've had recently, to Jenkins and the two DB's, it's clear the Jets defense has three major holes. We're sure their personnel department is looking to fill them all, but we want to exploit them first."

Now THAT'S making fun of Rex's wife.

What Mangold said was fine, I don't understand why some of us are so thin skinned about spygate. It happened and there is no escaping it. What Welker said was cute and Mangold's not as much as the 2nd one jumping in is never as good as the first.

If a fan did say that to him, it's obviously uncalled for. But his characterization of Pats fans' response is inaccurate, from what I've seen here. Seems to me we're just amused by the cheap imitation of a classic original. (You just know some Jets will come up to WW after the game and say ..."That was awesome.")

Its such nonsense. Mr. and Mrs. Rex put their sexual interests out there for the entire world to see. It's fair game IMO. Commentary on that may be inappropriate for press conferences but IMO it's close to the same messaging (minus the Mrs Rex beaver shot of course) the ads the networks show during TV time-outs. Viagra, Hawaii Five-O, CSI Miami where they advertise sexual content, murder, etc. - content which is completely inappropriate for children under the age of 13 or so....

Not trying to be too judgmental, but it's a double-standard, IMO.

Almost a great line by Nick.
But a good effort.
Keep your head up, good buddy.

Hammer, soon to Meet Nail.

I met someone today that actually thought that what he said was a great comeback! I still can not see how what he said is better then what Welker did considering that no one KNOWS for sure if it was done on purpose or not... lol
