Lombardi: Randy Moss waived by Vikings [mergedx19]

Amazing.

If Childress did this without authority, and the team ultimately decides that it doesn't want to waive Moss, then Childress has to be fired, right? No way he can stay after getting overruled like that.

And unless you fire him, there's no way you can ask Moss to keep playing for him.

So Moss is still in Boston after the game. After his press conference, lack of effort, and the fact he's still in town, I think its pretty obvious he wants back. Question is does Bill want him.

Jay Glazer is saying that Moss hasnt been waived and that they are waiting to make sure a team will pick him up.What a joke.

Moss not "officially" waived

What a zoo of an organization. Chilly tells the players Moss is gone yet now Fox Sports is saying the paperwork isn't filed and there is unhappiness and division w/i the Vikes organization over this.

Oh God this is like watching Lovestory ... someone has cancer and a bad attitude ... someone loves someone ... someone might not return the love ... or maybe they will ...

DANG IT SOMEONE GET THE POPCORN AND TISSUES!

Doesn't the head coach have the power the make that decision?

And remember, childress had a big contract extension this offseason, thats a lot of $$$ to fire someone

LOL! An absolute joke. That is a crazy franchise.

wtf? Didn't his agent already acknowledge that he's been released?

Re: Moss not "officially" waived

Yeah he is.....

Who makes personnel decisions for the vikings? Is he the GM and the Head Coach?

Re: Moss not "officially" waived

His agent has already come out and confirmed it

Any team that would take him just to "block" us out is stupid. They take up a roster spot with a guy who may not be happy there and may cause problems if he is unhappy.

I still think Denver with Josh is the best fit for Randy at this time.
Thats actually a good idea, but why would Denver pay big money to rent a player in a lost season?

I think he has the "power" to do it in the sense that if he signed the papers and sent them into the league, the league would recognize them as valid and effective. But it seems the reports are saying that the papers have not actually been sent to the league.

The question whether, internally, Childress has the power to make the decision depends on the organization. At the end of the day, the buck stops with the owner. If the owner says, "don't do it," you can't do it. Even if you've announced it to your team.

Re: Moss not "officially" waived

Here's how it's all going to end.
Moss stays, Childress gets fired.

Best move Vikes could make, right there.

Re: Moss not "officially" waived

Minni is very much a zoo. Ever since Ziggy bought the team, it's been headed into the Twilight Zone.

You couldn't intentionally write this sort of a script, but now that it's playing out, it might make a great football movie. :D

Childress should be fired. The guy cant coach.Bringing back Favre was the worse thing they did.I am surprised they didnt inquire about Mcnabb when he was with the eagles.

NFLN is now running a banner that says, "Moss to be released." Makes it sound like a formality at this point.

Re: Moss not "officially" waived

All this wouldnt have happened if they didnt bring back Favre.:D

Re: Moss not "officially" waived

Can't you just picture BB in his office, cracking up over the buffoon that is Chilly? Seriously, you can probably hear chuckles down the hall.
