It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I think it's obvious we aren't going to sign both McCourtey and Revis, it'll be one or the other. I'd be SHOCKED if we lost both. As much as I love McCourtey, I prefer we get Revis signed if we can't have both. That being said, BB won a SB despite Law and Poole going down in 2004, with a rookie 3rd round pick (Assante Samuel) and an undrafted rookie FA (Randal Gay) playing in their place.
We need them both. If it means cutting wilfork then let it be.
...and how much the NEP like him here.We will see just how much dmac likes it here.
Thats if you think DMC is as good of a player as listed above. From overthecap.com, the top 5 safety contract. Something in the 9M range for AAV seems appropriate. A long-term deal might allow us to have a lower first year cap-hit.

I was wondering if that might be the case too. Let McCourty see what's out there if he wants, but have faith that he's likely to stick around, as long as the money is close overall. I think he would be amicable to a team-friendly structure.I see this as a positive. I suspect the Patriots believe McCourty is willing to structure a contact extension in a way that they want, which may be a very small cap hit for 2015. It would make sense, since McCourty appears to be a kool-aid drinking lifetime member of the New England Patriots homer club.
Remembering that McCourty wasn't a very good CB once we went to more man to man so Ryan's struggles at CB may not translate to struggles at CB.
Based on the pro days, McCourty has a notable edge in straight line speed but the change of directions between him and Ryan were about the same.
That said, I expect DMac back even if he's allowed to test the market.
I think playing with this Brother you know the twin connection and all is going to prove to be too powerful.
Not to mention the ridiculous endorsement deals being twins on the same team.
He was good when we played more zone, facing the QB. He was bad when we played more man. All I'm saying is that Ryan has struggled in the same, more or less, defense that DMac struggled in. Ryan may have done better at CB in more zone also.McCourty had one bad year at CB. He was a pretty good one otherwise. He was just a lightning rod here. He was far better than Ryan. Not that Ryan couldn't turn into a pretty good safety.
