If the Jets win today and the niners lose would we move up to 3rd pick in the draft? I appreciate any help with this question.

I think it would go by Strength of Schedule and I think the 49ers have an easier schedule, so yes, they would be higher than the Jets.

if draft were right after game, it would be a coin toss

It's not a coin toss. It's record first, and SOS second; the JEST have had the harder schedule, so the Niners would pick first. [Coin toss only comes in if teams remained tied after all other applicable tiebreakers.]

    #24 Jersey

We would be second, moving ahead of The Jest and the Rams.

Niners are down by 2 scores in the 4th and they look horrible again.

    #24 Jersey

They simply cannot score. Their 3 (so far) today was after a punt return put them in FG range.

If Jets win, 49ers lose, then if Miami has a win before the Pats play them, Pats could lose on purpose and clinch the #1 draft pick, correct?

Theoretically you have a point. The Pats could drop a game to Miami so they SF drops below them in the standings.

So with the Jets, Rams winning and Niners losing, we are up to number 2 or 3?

With the Jets OT win (and the Steelers loss) and the 49ers loss, we increase our likelihood of getting a Top 3 pick and we move closer to the #1 seed in the playoffs. What a great day.

Is there a place that posts SOS numbers? That's the tie break.

Oakland losing as well makes the 3rd round pick better too.
