I think it would go by Strength of Schedule and I think the 49ers have an easier schedule, so yes, they would be higher than the Jets.

It's not a coin toss. It's record first, and SOS second; the JEST have had the harder schedule, so the Niners would pick first. [Coin toss only comes in if teams remained tied after all other applicable tiebreakers.]

Theoretically you have a point. The Pats could drop a game to Miami so they SF drops below them in the standings.
