Reports from a niners beat writer Carlton on his show said if the Jets and Packers can’t agree to compensation that the Niners will jump in on that.

This feels to me like something that gets floated out to try and get the Jets to blink on the 13th overall pick. I don't doubt that the 49ers would like to have Aaron Rodgers running their offense in 2023, but think about it:

The Jets don't want to give up #13 overall, but the 49ers don't have a 1st OR 2nd round pick this year. So they'd have to give up a bunch of future picks (again) for a QB, or give up some really good players, AND they'd likely have to give up more in aggregate than the Jets to convince GB to trade him in the conference. All this to get 1 year (maybe 2) out of a QB in an offensive system that ran really well until they were forced to go to their FOURTH QB.

I don't doubt San Fran wants Aaron Rodgers, I just don't see a scenario where that deal makes the most sense for anyone. San Fran doesn't need him badly enough for what it would cost, and doesn't have the assets needed to keep Green Bay from shipping him off to the AFC.

I agree

Just sharing

The 49ers can have Brady without surrendering any assets. **** Rodgers.

Man I would absolutely love this. A lot of Jets fans have been saying that they have more leverage than the Packers, for the Packers to turn around and deal him to San Francisco would be a blast. The meltdown of the Jets fans in real time would be exquisite.

Rodgers had a better season than Brady did last year considering the lack of weapons Rodgers had and the weapons that Brady did have...

we really need to start a go fund me campaign for the 49ers to make this happen...

Evans was terrible last season. Godwin maybe got back to 75% of what he was pre-ACL. Julio Jones was toast. Gage was injured all season. Scotty Miller tried to catch passes with his chest. Rookie TEs. The Bucs had the worst running game in the NFL by far. The OL was an injured mess and their LT was on a penalty rampage all season. And they had toilet bowles for a head coach. Brady had way more stacked against him than Rodgers last season.

Still way better than anything Rodgers had last year...

Brady had the big names, but all had their worst years.

which cuts against the argument that Brady can make bad players look average, or average players look good....at least outside the NE system.

Not sure what you mean?

2022 Brady for sure. Even Super Bowl Tampa Bay year, I don't believe he was peak Tom Brady.

But ever?

Enter Mac Jones.

Jets?

His ability to elevate players around him started to die out around 2018...

Brady has said that he's busy raising kittens this season. 49ers would need to give Brady & Vivian a large litter of kittens to entice him.
Unlike you, I would eschew sex with Rogers.

Yes 40 is a lot for that level of play.

But still a top QB almost, if not, to the end.
