It pizzes me off that he gets to do that job and I have to do my crappy job when I could do a WAY better job on whatevathafuk he does.

Tell me about it. How do these losers like Mariotti or Easterbrook get these jobs? I kind of almost want to switch careers and get into sports media just to prove you can be in the media and not be a ******.

Obviously he must be one of those guys who didn't play football because it was too hard and you really have to work at it. Or, if he did sucked at it because he never gave 100% all the time. Either way it is totally obvious that HE hasn't got the point so he's proven he's too stupid to understand the point. Eff him, he's an idiot. :bricks:

All these writers on TV are wannabes. They all wannabe stars. Look at Mariotti. The guy lives in Chicago and has a tan like he sits on south beach all day long. They are in love with themselves. It's a joke that these guys actually take shots at the athletes they cover. They are bigger frauds. One of the guys I do actually like, believe it or not, is Stephen A Smith. It seems his schtick isn't forced and he actually believes strongly in the points he makes. He doesn't seem to say things just to get people riled up. I actually agree with a lot of his viewpoints. He is pretty good and funny.

Excellent points! I've made similar commets several times on this board. I truly believe many sports writers ultimate objecitve is to be a star...and to be a host or some sort of expert on ESPN.

What a childish goal and for a writer, it goes against everything they are sopposed to represent! i.e. creating stories and writing articles based upon their own inuendo's instead of "just the facts".

The entire sports writing community has evolved into a very ugly scene where facts have been replaced by the desire to be famous.

Jay Mariotti would like the pats to just "win their games without destroying teams." ie: stop trying so hard. take a couple plays off.

You;d think the pats are getting paid to play this well or something.

Jay, you miss the real point, the real point is to WIN THE SUPER BOWL, Blowing teams out while en route to this goal is but a means to an end not the end in itself. Before you embarrass yourself further you might want to take some time to truly understand your subject before you actually say something about it.
