Adam Schefter is reporting Vereen will be activated.

Shane Vereen of New England Patriots will return for game Monday against Carolina Panthers - espnBoston

The New England Patriots will activate running back Shane Vereen from short-term injured reserve for Monday night's game against the Carolina Panthers, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

The Patriots plan to ease Vereen, who has been sidelined since Week 1, back into their offensive game plan Monday, according to the source.

He was placed on injured reserve with a designation to return after suffering a broken wrist in New England's season-opening victory against the Buffalo Bills.

Vereen, who rushed for a career-high 101 yards in the opener, returned to practice in late October.

A third-year veteran, the 24-year-old Vereen has been a versatile player out of New England's backfield and is one of the Patriots' top pass-catching running backs.

The answer is yes...

The passing offense will be at full strength for the first time this season.

But now we can't fantasize about our unstoppable full-strength offense!

It's gonna be unstoppable now, book it.

Unstoppable was your 2007 offense....not this one. 2007 might slap someone for suggesting this 2013 be referred to as such.

even that one got slowed once the right matchup found it.

We will have all our starters. I am predicting, and so are you.

I prefer the youth and balance of this years offense over the 07 one which burned out at the end of the season.

welp, brady's going to have somebody to dump 3 yard passes to. The panthers might as well roll up the white flag now.

Yeah, just like the Confederate soldiers did at Bennett Place during the civil war.

Vereen is capable of taking it to the house from anywhere on the field. And I wouldn't mind if the Panthers forfeited. Save the Pats the lumps of a physical game and let them play Denver next week as healthy as possible. :)

I think the biggest thing to look out for tonight is to see if your D stays in traditional zone or changes up for Brady. Brady loves zone and will eat it up like nobody's business. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Loving the civil war smack talk. Too soon, man. Too soon. :p

So it's after 4pm -- did Vereen get activated off IR or not?

As was expected since the Patriots cleared a roster spot last week, they've officially activated Shane Vereen. He'll play tonight.

:woohoo:

idiot Felger actually made a valid point.

the biggest mismatch in tonights contest is the coaching.....BB should win this game if mallett were starting......should be a blowout, boys

It used to be, but not anymore. Rivera has been unusually aggressive in 4th-down and other situational playcalling. Carolina is playing way above expectations and behind Reid, Rivera is in the running for COTY.

So you're taking Rivera over Belichick if you had to pick?
