DHB has always had bad hands. It's not just the QBs throwing to him.
Hayward-Bey was the guy who had 4th round skills and college game tape, but ran a 1st round 40 yard dash. Thus when one team valued that above everything else, his dream payday arrived.
No NFL game tape really shows a higher skill level than a number of vet minimum players who you can get instead.
I suppose you may like the impressive speed he displays while not making catches. Generally that doesn't help much, though.
even if his hands are as bad as they say, someone still needs to cover him on Defense, and if he makes a couple of catches, a saftey needs to hover towards his side.
Worst case scenerio hes a low cost decoy with a 50% chance of catching a deep ball.
Giants DE Osi Umenyiora's contract will officially void on Thursday, making him an unrestricted free agent.
He is not expected back with the Giants, who are making a concerted effort to get younger and cheaper. Umenyiora's departure isn't going on the books as a release, so he can't sign a contract until the start of the new league year on March 12. Umenyiora is far from the force he once was, but will certainly be looking for a multi-year deal. We expect him to get one.
Would you want to bring him in as like a 4th or 5th WR and use him on deep routes a few times a game if he came cheap? IMO he would be a nice in that role similiar to what Stallworth did in the one game he played in.
DHB does have bad hands but he can run and stretch out a defense.

The Oakland Raiders picked up $5.419M in cap room from Richard Seymour's contract voiding. He now counts as $13.714M in dead money.
Sounds like Seymour's contract has been voided.
Friday was the day of reckoning for the Raiders with regard to Richard Seymour's contract. Either they void his contract or pay him $19.133 million next season. That wasn't going to happen and so the voiding of his contract was to be expected.
Seymour's contract stated that if he didn't play a certain number of downs last season, the Raiders would have the option of voiding his contract. He was injured for the final eight games of last season and therefore did not meet those requirements.
