Giants reportedly cut Ahmad Bradshaw and Chris Canty...

Does Canty interest anyone??

yeah, I think it was reported in this thread

DHB has always had bad hands. It's not just the QBs throwing to him.

Would you want to bring him in as like a 4th or 5th WR and use him on deep routes a few times a game if he came cheap? IMO he would be a nice in that role similiar to what Stallworth did in the one game he played in.

DHB does have bad hands but he can run and stretch out a defense.

Hayward-Bey was the guy who had 4th round skills and college game tape, but ran a 1st round 40 yard dash. Thus when one team valued that above everything else, his dream payday arrived.

No NFL game tape really shows a higher skill level than a number of vet minimum players who you can get instead.

I suppose you may like the impressive speed he displays while not making catches. Generally that doesn't help much, though.

even if his hands are as bad as they say, someone still needs to cover him on Defense, and if he makes a couple of catches, a saftey needs to hover towards his side.

Worst case scenerio hes a low cost decoy with a 50% chance of catching a deep ball.

Sounds like Bethel Johnson, whom we drafted instead of Anquan Boldin.

Someone will take a punt on DHB at a cost higher than the Patriots are willing to pay him.

per rotoworld

Giants DE Osi Umenyiora's contract will officially void on Thursday, making him an unrestricted free agent.
He is not expected back with the Giants, who are making a concerted effort to get younger and cheaper. Umenyiora's departure isn't going on the books as a release, so he can't sign a contract until the start of the new league year on March 12. Umenyiora is far from the force he once was, but will certainly be looking for a multi-year deal. We expect him to get one.

I'd much rather get a WR through the draft.

The Jesters are reportedly going to cut; Scott, Pace and Jason Smith. He's been a flop so far. But, I'd kick the tires on Jason Smith. Especially, if we lose SeaBass. He was drafted 2nd overall in 09. Turns 27 in April. If the money isn't guaranteed, would like to see what Scar could do with him. Might be in his best interests to hook up with an outstanding ol coach to extend his career or it could be ovah.

I don't see him settling for WR5 money, so the point is probably moot, but I'd bring him in as competition if he was taking minimum salary. Honestly, though, I don't see him as much more than that, because I really don't trust his hands.

Titus Young Cut....anyone???

Forget it....just noted he is gone to Rams....sorry fellas....my eyes aint what they used to be!!!

Re: Titus Young Cut....anyone???

He's already gone through the waiver process and been claimed by the Rams.

Re: Titus Young Cut....anyone???

SIGN THE BE... Oh, never mind.

Re: Titus Young Cut....anyone???

We're better off without him anyways. He is a cancer to any team. Good luck to the Rams

Re: Titus Young Cut....anyone???

id rather castrate myself with dull rocks than take on that headcase. hes a serial killer waiting to happen.

The Oakland Raiders picked up $5.419M in cap room from Richard Seymour's contract voiding. He now counts as $13.714M in dead money.

Sounds like Seymour's contract has been voided.

Friday was the day of reckoning for the Raiders with regard to Richard Seymour's contract. Either they void his contract or pay him $19.133 million next season. That wasn't going to happen and so the voiding of his contract was to be expected.

Seymour's contract stated that if he didn't play a certain number of downs last season, the Raiders would have the option of voiding his contract. He was injured for the final eight games of last season and therefore did not meet those requirements.

That would have been an insane cap hit for a DL. Seymour will now be a UFA.

That's called making space the hard way... Better them than us. He wouldn't have helped in 2009, that team needed a lot more than another DE. He'd have killed our cap between 2010-2012 and he was never again nearly the player of his early years. Just got paid like he was.

Nick Barnett LB Bills released.

We need a coverage specialist at LB, but Barnett isn't it. I'd rather go with youth there. A later round draft pick plus the return of Fletcher sounds about right.

The Bills also released S George Wilson.
