Lets understand something facts:

So far the only one thing we know is:
NFL decided that Pats have violated rules about having a camera/video-tape on the sidelines.

That's it!

It is really upsetting, that media can contort this "rules violation" charges into cheating, tainting our dynasty and all the other crap. But I can understand media, they always have an axe to grind. But Pats fans, form your own opinions based on facts, instead of blindly jumping into this conclusion, that we cheated. WE DID NOT CHEAT!!! WE VIOLATED A NFL RULE!!!. Almost every NFL team violates rules at some point during their season. Why we did not hear about it, because league doesn't want bad publicity. Reiterating what being said past couple of days, this wouldn't have been such a big deal, if this is not Pats or Jets involved. I am sure even Roger Goodell did not expect this much bad publicity, and I won't be surprised he privately reprimanded Jets for going to media with this.

What's my point?
The point is instead of being "woe is me", we should start talking about football again.

I'd suggest that you add another few words to your title... "but... cheating is legal"

This is the POINT that people miss. It can't be repeated enough because there are so many fans that don't seem to realize it.

the NFL policy of "cheating is legal" is the real scandal in my eyes - I didn't know that until yesterday - and I think a lot of fans seem to think that stealing signals is the sin here.

It's not and that's mind boggling. Every team can have an army of guys in the stands and sidelines with binoculars and a cellphone calling in signals to the booth or wherever. And apparently everyone seems to say they do - they just routinely don't use a recording device... or at least they don't get caught at it like the Dolphins were and as Indy supposedly does as well.

This completely undermines the integrity of the game in my opinion and I still haven't come to terms with it.

So in order to distract attention from their policy of "Go ahead and cheat" but just "don't cheat at cheating" the NFL is going to act shocked, appalled and incredibly righteous in coming down hard on the Patriots in the hopes that fans don't take the time to realize that the NFL allows cheating.

It's the NFL that really must be called on to answer in my opinion. It's time that one way or another we ended the practice of ALL teams stealing each others signals.
