The rule is pretty clear that the ball can touch the ground while in control. And that's what happened.. I know that it's tough for you to understand..
They didn't have strong enough evidence to say the ball wasn't popped loose partly by hitting the ground. If the ball was dislodged when it hit the ground, then he was not in control.I do think if they had called reception on the field, they probably wouldn't have overturned that either. It was close enough to go with the call on the field either way.
You are deluded if you think the Panthers would have won yesterday, but the refs intervened because the NFL wanted the Broncos to win. The Broncos D assaulted them the whole game.
