    No Jersey Selected

    Totally.

What I thought was most interesting about his 'EEI appearance today was this tidbit about the offense:

"I would’t say we’ve got it all figured out. There's still young players that need to contribute. Wes and Deion are a big part of what we do, Rob Gronkowski has proven himself, but Aaron Hernandez has to get more in the mix, Brandon Tate, Julian…it can’t be just one or two guys. That balance on offense (with the run game) has really shown up too."

It's no secret that Tate and Edelman have had some dropsies, but I thought including Hernandez in there was revealing (considering his disappearing act lately). You have to think there's some stuff they want him to do that he isn't doing at this point. Either way, if anyone can coach these guys up, it's BB and Brady.

I was perusing the Jets bored and they had a link talking about this article and someone mentioned that it seemed to him that most of the Patriots players were tired of Brady's fist pumping and leadership. I just had to laugh. This is what everyone loves about Brady, how calm and collected he is when the pressure is on but also his ability to rally the troops.

I really think he almost singlehandidly willed the Patriots to beat the Steelers during that game.

When there's nothing left to attack, just make something up.

While Edelman has had a big drop off this year (4 catches?), and Tate has a couple of recent big drops, Hernandez has 35 catches and has been a darling of fans. But he has slowed lately and I agree that Brady's comment is noteworthy. Let's hope each of these guys makes a play or two on Mon night. I suspect that is his intention.

I'd hate for my best player to be my motivational, figurative and spiritual leader. I'd hate that he's lead Superbowl drives, set all sorts of records and is the measuring stick and is what accomplishment is measured against.

Brady probably knows Hernandez will get fired up over this. He's a smart guy.

If you want to read some interesting motivational stuff, read a red Auerbach book. He knew you had to treat every player different, even though you had to be fair. He use to lay into heinsonh all the time because there were players who would sulk, but Heinsonh didn't give a s**t. Heinsonh would have a great game, but auerbach would start yelling at him about some phase of the game and the guy who really messed up would improve because Auerbach yelled at Heinsonh instead of the gut who really didn't box out, or whatever. Finally Heinsonh asked him to ease up.:D

Another good one was Russell's practice habits. they play 82 games so it's not like football. Russel would laze around. he knew the plays and hated practice. One day Auerbach decided to make an example and tore into him in front of the team for practicing at half speed. Russell got pissed and started running up and down the court full speed, making every basket and blocking every shot at the other end until the practice was in shambles.

Red never mentioned his practice effort again. Of course players didn't bother Russell, who was on another planet in big games, throwing up before every playoff game, he was so intense.

Brady is demanding "an all hands on deck" attitude for the New England Patriots offense against the NY Jets defense.

I think Brady will be just as fired up in this game as he was against Pitt, maybe more so. I hope the young defense and TEs can feed off of it and the electricity that will be present in Gillette that night.

I've watched Brady since he was at Michigan and the leadership has always been there. I can't believe some of our fans think it's silly or that it doesn't matter. It's how you rise from 7th on the depth chart at Michigan to win the starting job, by making everyone around you better.

And I get that some fans don't like that way of leading, and some fans can question that. But not Jets fans. When your QB is getting fined by the team for poor body language and poor leadership, you have NO RIGHT to question any other QB anywhere about the way they choose to lead.

    Disable Jersey

Another thing to love about Tommy Boy is that he positively HATES the Jets.
