Is this what we've landed on? I didn't know if we'd made it official yet.
i just typed it then.... first time i've called him that.
From what i've read and heard lately, he'd be a big fan of that name.
No, it isn't at all. In a lot of ways, our pass rush is a lot better. They are consistently rushing the same guys, while are pressure packages are much more varied (as evidenced by the distribution of the sacks).
People harp on the Giants pash rush because it's the one perceived "advantage" for that team, but I'm not even sure it is one.
No way. The Giants pass rush is much, much better than NE's. Even look at the last NE game; despite getting only one sack (with one negated by a penalty) they harassed Tommy all night, knocking him down some 8-9 times.
NE's pass rush is more front-runner than anything else. They are very inconsistent throughout the game, but accumulate some sacks when the game is starting to get out of hand and the other team is forced to pass on every down.
The Giants' pass rush is for real.
....anyone know who's second.

Weird that know one eludes to that.

Someone tell Jets fans that they have the most tackles in the league. Not exactly a good thing, but they'll take whatever they can get I'm sure.
Our give/take ratio is +16.
Giants are a -9
.
Last time I looked, I don't think they line up an unsuspecting QB and have both defenses compete against each other to see how many sacks they can get. BTW, if that becomes a reality show, I want royalties.
The Giants don't have to pressure some average or abstract team...they have to do it against the Pats. This is important because the Giants are faced with a difficult choice. Rush 4 and hope your coverage can hold up for 4-5 seconds. Blitz, play man press and hope Brady is off target or Welker/Faulk/Watson have the butterfingers. I'm inclined to think you will see a 50-50 mix of both. In the last meeting, Torbor was the real pain in the arse, not the lawfirm of Gappy, Osi and Tuck.
I think the Pats will give Eli every chance to self-destruct on his own without bringing the house to force it. Key the run, get the Giants in predictable down-distance situations and just rush 4 (maybe even 3). As the pressure builds, Eli will be Eli and all will be right with the world.
When did I say that NE was some average or abstract team? The Giants took it to NE on the LOS last time. Sure, NE was missing some guys, but they were missing those guys in other games and they weren't beaten on the line in those the way NY did.
NY's pass rush is for real and is significantly better than NE's. There is no two ways about it.

I would bet my life Eli doesn't throw zero interceptions this game.
New England gets almost as much pressure with 3 players as the Giants get with 4. New England had just 6 fewer sacks in the regular season and was #2 in the league, despite frequent use of prevent style defense. New England led the league in time of possession, meaning they had less time per game to accumulate sacks. The difference in time between the two teams was just about a minute per game, and the Patriots defense faced only 933 plays from scrimmage, while the Giants faced 984.
The notion that the Giants' pass rush if significantly better than New England's has no basis in anything I can find.
I bet you Brady throws more INT than Eli. Seriously.
I don't mean any offense, but the only way one can justify this thought is by looking at the stats and having never watched either teams' games. When has NE ever gotten pressure with just 3 rushers?
NE's pass rush is the biggest weakness in their defense, forcing them repeatedly to become blitz heavy in the latter part of their close games.
