I know everyone's incredibly nervous about re-signing Moss.
IMO the lack of movement on Moss is likely because the Pats are looking to re-do Brady's contract as well and the two are somewhat tied together, though I've seen very little attention given to this notion.
I don't think Brady would HAVE to re-do his contract to sign Moss to a $10 mil a year deal as many expect - but it also seems to me extending Brady and lowering his cap would allow the Pats to be much more active in free agency.
Is it just me or do most people not expect Brady to do an extension this year? To me its a common sense move... whether it happens this year or next its going to happen, and the fact that we're looking to add a $10 million receiver strikes me as making now the time to do it.
I hope they sign Moss ASAP but it wouldn't surprise me if, when the whole story is known, it turns out that Brady's extension was a big part of the delay on Moss's signing.
