Patriots LB Darius Fleming played vs Chiefs with 22 stitches in his R leg. Cut himself kicking out a burning car window to save a woman

Fleming witnessed 3-car accident on Rt-1 near Gillette on Thurs night. Woman couldn’t get out of her car, Fleming saw smoke & kicker her out

Some things are more important than Sports. Good on Fleming!

McCourty is talking about this now. Fleming saw a woman's car... on fire... jumped out of his car... kicked the window in, and dragged her out. The team made him give a speech about it. That is awesome. :)

Good for him. Talk about "doing your job". Kudos to Volin for doing something I never thought he'd do....break a story. ;)

BTW- back at training camp in 2014, the OTHER player who seemed to stand out from the crowd beyond Butler, was Darius Fleming. There is a big role (and growing bigger all the time) for the hybrid LB/S The really athletic 220 lb LB who can play.(ie Shazier and that kid from the Jags) Flemming seemed to fit in that role in camp. His speed and acceleration was eye opening in camp.

Now HIS playing arc has been a lot different and a LOT slower than Butler's, but I've always liked his athletic potential to be another big play defender. Sort of like a mini-Collins. It will interesting to see if he can make the jump in playing level next season.

That being said, I do NOT want to see him having to play a significant role in this weeks game.

Seems like a good dude who's been through a lot in his short career. Based on what I know about Darius, this doesn't surprise me.

And he didn't go around looking for credit and bragging about his good deed? How un2016ish

Wow, that's crazy.

Like the post Ken but the way things are going with IR, YOU may be playing in Denver. Book a flight.

Well today's injury report will be telling, at least as far as injury reports go. I'm hoping Collins, Hightower and Jones get to questionable/limited participation status. We get 3 "did no participate" designations, and I will have to look for a flight. ;)

Hoping Hightower's questionable? What am I missing, thought he was clearly in the OK camp--understand he's not 100%, of course.

I cut my leg last summer and got 18 stitches.. the stitches and leg felt tight for about a week..

Very heroic stuff... does Roger know about this???.

Maybe that is why Kensil was in town, to make sure it was true..

Agree 100% with all of this. I remember him standing out at 2014 tc. Of course butler got his chance since we had huge need at cb while obviously Fleming was behind a deep lb and safety group. He will have an opportunity next year- mayo looks done. Look at all the Pats who've come seemingly out of nowhere to be impact players, edelman, butler, Andrews, develin, you could throw in Chung since I don't think any of us foresaw him playing probowl- level ss.Makes we wonder how many other hidden gems are on the roster- just needing a little more seasoning and an opportunity- grissom? Flowers? Richards?

Darius, dude...

So while the Bronco players are badmouthing the Patriots and threatening to aim for Gronk's knees, a Patriots player quietly saves a woman from a burning car and doesn't say anything about it to anyone.

But remember, the Patriots are the most evil, despicable, and universally hated team in the league
