What's your favorite thing BB has done creatively wit the defense in years past?

I liked when he switched Law and Harrison in 04 against the Colts.

Wasn't that the same game where he played Vrabel at nose tackle?

If so, it was one of the most brilliant single-game defensive schemes ever.

I like when he boxed out Marvin Harrison on the side line

BB has done so much on defense creatively over the years it's hard to keep track of but clearly the 2004 AFC championship game sticks out to most people for obvious reasons :)

Honestly, I don't know as much about D as I do about O (and I don't know a lot about O either) so I have no idea.

04 Championship game, anytime we beat the crap out of 'soft' Colt WR's I'm happy!

The XXXVI gameplan should be laminated and put in the Hall of Fame.

    Agreed.

It revolutionized the use of sub-packages on defense, and it highlighted how one player could really be taken out of the game (Marshall Faulk).

Could've sworn the 04 AFCCG was against the Steelers. As a matter of fact, I'd be willing to put money on it.

We beat Indy in the AFCCG in 03, and again in the divisional round in 04. We went to Pittsburgh in the AFCCG in 04, and beat Roethlisberger's rookie streak.

So are you talking about the 03 AFCCG against Indy, or the 04 divisional round against Indy? For now, I'll assume both, because both were incredible defensive feats.

One of the most creative things I have ever seen tried by a defense was a few years ago when BB had the DB's line up tight to make it look like cover 1 and then at the snap of the ball, they morph into a cover 3.
Very difficult to do, lots of moving parts and lots of communication needed in the secondary to pull that off.

    But still very creative thinking.

its was a good game plan

but it was tony dungy and he's bucs that showed how to stop the rams the year befor in the NFC champ game they held the rams to 17 points by puting brooks. to watch marshall faulk, and hit him ever time he got out of the back field and to double team holt and bruce and hit them hard every time they got the ball

it did not work for the bucs cause they could only score 10 points on O it's a copycat league and it worked for the pats cause they had tom brady to win the game

How about setting up for a punt and snapping the ball off the goal post for a safety? Moved the position of the punter up about 25 yards while the coverage team could just go downfield and not have to worry about blocking too.

Great coaching decision. Off-topic for this thread, however. ;)

The superbowl 36 one was epic. We rarely blitzed and Seymour and Mcginnest was in his face so much. When we did blitz they couldnt pick it up and caused a defensive touchdown (Vrabels pressure, pick 6 by Law). Also using 5,6,7 defensive backs everyplay made things uncomfortable to the Rams offense.
