i posted it because i dont think you can lose a player as good as posey and be a better team. go watch a new Orleans hornets game and see the contributions james posey makes then come talk to me. its not about his stats either. he plays excellent defense and provides clutch shooting. he can also play both guard and forward positions and gave the Celtics flexibility. the bench just isn't as good as last years team. pj brown also played a big role coming off the bench. can they still win a championship? yes they can. but the question was are they as good as last year. in my opinion the answer is no.
I think Posey is a great sub. But the reason why I believe the Celtics are better is that he was a sub. Rhondo is a starter in one of the most critical positions in basketball. His play has elevated him to all-star status. Thus, the play of Rhodo with the continuous chemistry of the other four starters takes the Celtics to a higher level then last year, even tho they lost two quality players from last years team. The Celtics need a quality sub, but what would you rather have, the best starting five in basketball with no outstanding sub, or four great starters with an up and coming fifth with a great sub coming off the bench. Its actually similiar to one of the great Celtic teams of the 80's.
