It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Mr. Dumbazz, maybe in Cleveland, they only have ESPN on TV and PFT on the internet, Everywhere else in the English speaking world, every new station, newspaper and internet site, there was been a finding that the Pats are proven guilty and they just have to find out how they did it. This has been encouraged by leaks from the NFL itself and people who have been recipient of leaks from the commissioner himself. If you think that the commissioner with the backbone of tissue paper is not going to respond to the media frenzy regardless of the facts, you must have been living either under a rock or in Cleveland since the cameragate incident which was created by the commissioner and his friends in the media. We all know how the supine posture of Kraft worked then.
Are YOU sure they did nothing wrong? I think it's very possible they did nothing wrong, and even if they did I think this has been blown way out of proportion, but if you asked me to bet $100 that they didn't intentionally deflate the balls, I wouldn't take the bet.
Hmmm never knew the public was investigating. He has been accused by the public, and this is a statement to the public, not the NFL.
The idea you shouldn't say you're innocent during an investigation is silly. The investigation means the NFL, or police, or whoever have reasonable suspicion you have done something, and they are trying to ascertain if you did it or not. To say you did not do it, if you didn't isn't just reasonable, it's exactly the purpose of the investigation.
So yes, Kraft made a business savvy decision to let his guys handle the pressure because he doesn't want to sully his name if it blows up. There's a reason we don't respect people in this culture or any other though that methodically count the pros and cons before backing their friends up. It's seen as self serving. That's just not something people respect.
The patriots fans should BOO! Bob Kraft when he shows up at the send-off rally on Monday for not having spine to show support for BB and TB.
I don't know how this will end. By the end of next week I may no longer be a Pats or NFL fan.
We might be basking in the glow of another great Superbowl win and have our franchise be cleared of any wrong doing, we may lose yet another Superbowl, I may be feeling "Let's just get this damn game over!", as I felt before the game in 2008.
We may see BB fired or resign and take half the fan base with him. Brady may re-think playing into his 40s and retire after the game.
There are a lot of variables at this point, and much of it hinges, for me on how Bob Kraft responds and sticks up for his team. The fans and players fight for him, he should return the favor. In the early part of his ownership he was the best owner in the league, now.......?
Kraft doesn't deserve BB and Brady, and it would not be a surprise if this next game is the last one he has them for.
Personally, it won't take much more to make me throw in the towel on the Pats and the NFL.
Hey fladumbazz
So what?
Where have you been the past 15 years?
Obviously not a fan of the Bill Belichick era Patriots.
Along with the greatest enjoyment an organization can give a fan base, we have a coach that has a comprehensive hatred and disdain for the media industrial complex. Some fans love it ( I do) but whatever one thinks about it.......it's part of what everyone here signed up for.
If anyone here is dumb enough to think the idiot press would not go after our coach, they are very naive and ignorant.
Again, if you are looking for validation from Florio or ESPN or Peter King or Felger, you got zero business being a fan. My advice would be to pretend you have a pair and stop worrying what those idiots think because there is nothing Kraft can do or say
Insults aside, I think you miss the point of my comments. I believe we share a desire for the Pats to succeed but have different views of the effect on the media on the NFL. My numerous posts show my support of BB and TB has been unflinching since he came to the Pats. I could give a crap what the mediots say but I can't ignore a verbal witch hunt when I see it happening. Frankly, while I am not concerned with what the media says, I am concerned with the repercussions of the media on the POS commissioner with the tissue paper backbone in dishing out undeserved punishment to the team. If Kraft acts in the same grovelling way that he did in 2007, then we have reasons for concern. His statement leads me to believe he will.
Turn on the TV thenHmmm never knew the public was investigating.
Reports indicate the league is doing the investigation.
Even if you thought that sophistry about investigations vs accusations was an escape hatch, you still have to contend with the investigation. Yes, you should definitely say you are innocent in an investigation if you are innocent. You should say it to anyone investigating or accusing you, and you should say it to the media if they are accusing you. They have never been accused but they need to proclaim innocence.
Great thought process.
We're aware that Kraft is hedging his bets before he picks what side to fall on. We're aware it's smart business. We're also aware it's a ****ty thing to do to your friends.Whether or not fans want to admit it, Kraft (as owner) has a dual role. He is for the Patriots, obviously, but he also has a role and responsibility towards the NFL. I'm not surprised he didn't openly support Bill and Tom - his organization has to run regardless of whether or not Tom or Bill are actively participating on the team, and his own reputation is tied to that. Of course he hedged by not taking a stand - that way he's protected regardless of the outcome.
To be mad at him for doing that is to be mad at both Bill and Tom for doing the same thing. Both of them not only denied any involvement, but also repeatedly stated they had "no knowledge". It's hedge language - "we didn't do it, but if someone else did it we didn't know about it". I happen to think they'd be pretty foolish to openly say they did nothing if they actually did, so in my opinion they're hedging on the investigation either turning up nothing, or turning up some other party that may have tampered with the balls and they're protecting themselves.
People want a release from the frustration, and I get that, but there are legalities involved that go far beyond "integrity of the game". All the parties involved, NFL, Kraft, BB, and TB all have to be able to survive whatever the investigation turns up. Part of that is being very specific about the words they use.
Correction, those are his employees. He thinks his friends are the POS commissioner and the fraternity of owners who want to destroy his team. It's too bad for the fans that he thinks this way. We're aware that Kraft is hedging his bets before he picks what side to fall on. I beg to differ. He had no reservations supporting the POS when the sh-t hit the fan in Ricegate without knowing the results of the investigation. Unless he knew it was going to be a whitewash. He doesn't think any of them are his friends. The only play is to wait and see what the investigation yields.

Hang in there Gr8test. It's not that bad. I think all of them, Krafty and B&B, are organized and acting under the same guidance.
As for Kraft's statement, below is a pretty good video about not making statements to police for any reason, and it's probably just as appropriate in this case. If anyone has time and hasn't seen this, it's excellent;
I want him to know that a good portion of the fan base will abandon the organization if he leaves Brady and Belichick hanging out to dry, or worse. I would too. I'm in my mid 20s so been raised a Pats fan, but eventually I became much more attached to Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and the Patriots Way than the actual organization and its history. I know some older folks would disagree there but that's how I feel.Maybe a chant that leaves no doubt where we stand as fans would be more appropriate. We don't get a chance to get our message to him as much as we'd like.
Amen and I have been a Pats fan since 1960. Kraft is delusional if he thinks that the fans love him not BB and Brady.I want him to know that a good portion of the fan base will abandon the organization if he leaves Brady and Belichick hanging out to dry, or worse. And if we do win, at the Lombardi presentation, I want the speakers in this order...
1. Tom Brady
2. Bill Belichick
3. Every other guy on he 53 man roster and the coordinators.
4. Then Kraft...maybe.
