Tough crowd....

Just saying it is pretty annoying and as fellow fans of the team, I just wanted to gauge everyones opinions. I do think the defensive started with the tuck rule, people never fully embraced this team but that is more of a function of society digesting things quickly and wanting to move onto the next thing I think.

You know what really is annoying?

A person who is a member of Patsfans using some Jackass loser as his forum name - A worthless heap of crap that could not stay with the team 1 season and arguably was a cancer in the locker room which led to his dumping by the wayside - That whats annoying

DonteStallworth2007 would be more respected I think

I don't give a rat's ass what people think about what I wear, say or do, so why should I care what people think about the football team I prefer to follow?
Um, you're not the one wearing the tutu and lecturing on corners about the end of analog TV are you? Not that there's anything wrong with that!

Not since the Thorazine....

Only 6 months have gone by since the Super Bowl, as I said in the other thread way too early to have a retrospect thread.

It's still the last official football game anyone on this board has seen. This thread would have been much more appropriate at the conclusion of the 2008 season.

If 2008 doesn't end in a championship I'll feel even worse. At least right now there's so much anticipation for finishing the job.

I haven't posted here in a while because honestly I thought the board got way too dumbed down in bashing other teams and players, talking about the video camera incident and just generally was not why I enjoy watching football and the entertainment it brings to me...

How do you guys feel about the Spygate now though? It seems like when the Pats were 17-0, 18-0 it kinda died down a little and the talk was more about if they were gonna make history or not (with some "they are dirty!", "they runup the score!" thrown in)

How do you feel about it now? I have to admit it does bother me a little that many many opposing fans and even some well respected former players find the Patriots accomplishments to be somewhat tainted. The team accomplished so much this decade and its just amazing to look at their record and accomplishments since the Brady Era started. I think Belichick and the organization can redeem themselves and somewhat validate previous success by winning a few more superbowls between now and 2013 (When his contract supposedly expires), however, if they don't win another title (very easy to not win considering how competitive NFL is) then that will just lend more credibility and ammunition for the doubters.

I hate to bringup this crap again, but anyone who says it hasn't been frustrating for their experience as an NFL fan is probably lying. As well prepared, hard working and great of a coach as Belichick probably is, he really left himself open for tons of criticism on this one and I just don't see it going away...

I hate that that old bitter Bob Ryan might of had a point when he said Belichick has put Patriots fans on the defensive for the rest of their lives (that is WAY too over the top considering I doubt I'd really be too on the defensive about a sport, an organization I have no affiliation with)....

I think the fact they are the first great team in this new media driven era has made them more polarizing than any other team so that is a huge part of it obviously....

I said it before and will say it again:
Stealing signals is a time honored tradition in sports.
BB uses film to develop tendencies of teams and coaches.
He is just better at it than anyone else.
Why do people think coaches hide their mouths when calling signals? Why did the signal calling evolve to using head sets? Why do teams have closed practices and have security people chase people away.

This was only a story for people that don't understand football and sports.
Much ado about nothing.

:agree: Lets just wait to see with this year brings before we think about how our attitudes and feelings have changed.

DougGabriel,

We have moved on as have most others by and large. Not many of us think about it now. Brett Farve is the new ESPN story. Before us and this whole ********* manufactured story, ESPN created the TO story.
Starting a thread about how we feel about it with a preface about this board having been dumbed down (a sentiment I also share) is alot is like repeatedly picking at a scab and then complaining about why the cut hasn't healed.
Know what I mean?
Do us all a favour and in the next thread you create, make sure that it is about actual football and throw in some analysis and opinion for good measure.

Absolutely. The whole episode is a political nightmare.

We should have lost a fifth round pick then moved on.

You are confused perhaps?

You guys care what the media says wayyyyyyy too much. Also, its not like everyone in the media has the same opinion.

i before e, my friend.

except after C, and the e in this case is after C, maybe thats not how the rule was ment to be taken buf C H E I F S the E is 2 letters AFTER the C. I just changed the entire world of the english language, and i cant even spell that good (yea I said good, I know its suppose to be well, but from now on Good is ok too.)

god, is it week one yet?

p.s. Patjew you're one of my favorite posters, and my stupid rant up there is by no means trying to start a stupid fight over the correct use of I and E.
