#USC great/defensive end Gary Jeter, a member of the 1976 Playboy All-American team, has died. He was 61.

Best known for his time with the Giants and Rams, he did have a few years with the Pats.

When BB first went to the Giants to coach special teams, which had sucked the year before, in his first meeting Jeter was goofing off and BB lit into him. Something like "Jeter, acting like that is why the f-ing special teams here sucked. If you don't want to pay attention get the F out". Ray Perkins said he let BB go because he wanted to see how he handled. It was his first test, because Jeter was a high profile guy, and BB was an unknown looking to gain respect.
