I can't wait to get Dion Lewis back.

same here, that guy is amazing...amazing I tell you...

I can't wait until Lewis is healthy enough to play at a reasonable level.

You need to look at Lewis as a backup. Almost an afterthought in the team building. Like a 4th or 5th RB on the roster. This way when he invariably goes down for the year again, which he has every year, you have a water tight contingency plan.

He makes some pretty violent cuts. Need to see if that knee can hold up first. One way or another, the position needs to be revamped. Lewis can't see that amount of snaps again even if the knee is healthy. He's a great talent, but he's very small and hasn't shown that he's able to hold up against that kind of punishment yet. But yes, I can't wait to get him back in the fold either. I wish the team never lost him this year. He added a whole other dimension to the passing attack.

I'm fine with White and Bolden as backups for Lewis.

What we were missing was an adequate backup for Blount.

I wouldn't call it a backup per se, but more think of him as a dedicated 3rd down back. Not like it was last year where we was essentially our feature back who also played on 3rd down. Get the O-Line straightened out so that Blount or whoever you get to replace/upgrade him can handle the normal duties, then use Lewis to make sure the chains move, or in 2 minute situations.

And as others have said, this is all assuming his knee can actually still do all those things we loved watching him do.

So damn fun to watch the guy. The fun part of watching the Pats was definitely missing the second half of the year. Felt like a lot of the time I was just wishing for the game to be over.

He touched the ball 600 times in 2 years in college and was never injured.

There's a big difference in the pros though. The smallest guy in the pros would be one of the biggest guys hitting him college. The rigors are night and day. I'm optimistic he can hold up for a season, because we've seen other "injury-prone" players like Edelman, Gronk, and Amendola, play full seasons for us, but college is not a great indicator of his ability to stay healthy.

think I read that he expects to be ready to rumble at TC, which kind of shocked me.

Aside from his 2 years at Pitt and his first 2 season in the NFL but ya injured every year.

Gronk just finished his 2nd straight season of at least 17 games. After '11-'13 a lot of you thought he could never finish a season again

He was one of the most exciting players I can remember in some time now to watch... unbelievable talent, fits perfectly in this offense but they need to plan around him with the expectation that he WILL get injured at some point.

I hope they limit his reps in games and treats the season like a marathon with him and not a sprint. Limit his snaps, get more reps for the rotational guys and keep him fresh for a playoff push

Huge fan of his, really rooting for him to have a full recovery and make our jaws drop some more next season with ridiculous moves

let me know the 1st time that gronk gets injured without contact

Lewis is just not an every down back and any notion to the contrary is foolish

Hey does anyone have any thoughts about his health or if he will be healthy or how healthy he will be or how we can keep him healthy?

Just trying to keep the thread FRESH

Edit: healthy

the only thing you could do would prevent him from being the player that he was for 6.5 games....those reflex cuts are like running through a minefield

all of the qualities that make him special are very detrimental to one's health..... taking to the air, cutting back into 3-4 defenders
