I understand your frustration and your intent. But it's impractical. Just as I'd like to see some public speech censored, but then, who would be the censors, and what if it's me that they would censor?

So what? If it's determined I should be kicked out, that's fine.

But to be honest, I've sort of lost interest in my own thread.

Ian, appoint a small, say five person, review board. If certain posters are, in the view of the majority of the board, an overall minus for game threads, they will be banned from posting there. They will get one warning (we are a nation of second chances), and if there is second offense, gone.

I'm sure it won't happen, but would be nice. Weed out at least a few of the morons. Think about it.

I think the posters we were referring to earlier ( their are a bunch of them) would only understand a TIMEOUT followed by the dreaded No XBox

I hear you, the GDT is many times insufferable. I have a tough time keeping up while watching the game. The trolls, nervous nellies, chicken Littles are many. Nevertheless, I can't support your suggestion, though I understand it. I don't believe in censorship because it can be so easily abused ultimately causing more harm than the silly posts of some morons.

Try not to take the thread too seriously.

This board is already way over-moderated, no need for even more moderation. Granted I've never followed a game day thread, but if someone's pissing you off so much, why not just put them on iggy?

Personally, I hit the occasional Game Day Thread for Entertainment Purposes Only...And it is precisely the Wailing & Gnashing of Teeth of The Perpetually Miserable that amuses me!!

But that doesn't suddenly render them stupid: Mad Bill's aggregate Body of Work is magnificent.

Hey...The League simply does not exist without the Fans. That simple fact ~ to say nothing of the First Amendment ~ entitles us to squawk loud and long if it's our Pleasure to do so when we don't like a Move...But some of the Bleating and Squealing is simply flat out hilarious!!

I get what you're saying. Saw some guy making some kind of reference to raping someone's corpse with someone else's corpse's head or some crap. I certainly wouldn't mind that sort of thing getting removed. Can't monitor everything, though. The game day threads gain a new page every minute.

Love this board, but the moderators imo tend to go overboard on merging threads. If a thread is even vaguely related to another thread it gets merged. Oftentimes that means I have to waste time wading through pages and pages of posts to find the replies to the thread I was interested in. It was much more noticeable during deflate gate when everything was being merged into one huge thread.

The moderators also have very little patience for fans of other teams and are very quick to ban them. I might be the exception here, but I enjoy the back and forth from other fans. Unless of course they are intentionally trolling, but too often I've seen a fan of another team get banned for defending his/her team.

Here's a thought, if the meanies on the anonymous Game Thread get to overwhelming....give actual living, breathing people a shot when watching a Patriots game...or do you get all control freaky in the real world as well?
