The Ross Ventrone Merry-Go-Round is Open AGAIN!!! . . . but for how long?

This is his fifth or sixth year in the league. I wouldn't think he'd be eligible.

So Mr. Merry-Go-Round from 2011 is back. Let's hope that this doesn't foreshadow a return of the 2011 secondary.....

Maybe he's here, in a short week, truly just to help practice.

I can't stop laughin'.......

We're talking about practice squad. Ventrone is far more likely to get called up for his special teams value than any CB or OT currently on the street would get called up.
Our starting RT tomorrow was on the PS a few weeks ago and our #3 CB was bouncing between our PS and Seattle's at the start of the season. Forgive me for wanting actual talent with upside there.

Well this is eerie. I swear I was on here at about 4 am this morning and was looking something up and ended up on google. I wish I could remember what it was but anyway in the middle of image search a picture of Ross Ventrone appeared and I briefly wondered what he was up to and was trying to remember the last time he was with the Pats. I really didn't care that much and closed out the window.

Low and behold now hes back with the team.

The OT was Cam Flemming who spent last year on the Patriots' 53 man roster (I think he even started a game or two last year). He was familiar with the system and had experience playing with Brady and the offense. Name one person on the street that has that kind of experience at CB or OT that is practice squad eligible.

The Pats signed Justin Coleman on September 9th before the start of the season. That is when a lot of teams raid other teams' practice squads for players that will fit their system. It is October 28th. All those practice squad gems are pretty much picked clean. And you cannot raid one team's practice squad to sign a player to your practice squad. Completely different scenario all together.

He's baaaaaaack!!!

I'm well aware of the history of our roster. I'd still like an actual talent on the PS and not a Ventrone.

My binkie's back!

So would be ok if in practice Ray chewed out Ross and Ross told him to F- off?:p

Name someone with talent who is available with practice squad eligibility.

I don't give a crap who is on the practice squad. Practice squad players almost never make the active squad and the Pats are constantly revising their practice squad on a regular basis based on what they need in practice in a particular week.

I couldn't care less if Belichick put is great aunt Trudy on the practice squad (assuming she still has practice squad eligibility). Practice squad players, for the most part, are there just to be bodies at practice.

If you are on the street right now and you have practice squad eligibility, one thing you probably don't have a lot of is actual talent.

I wonder if ST's is a point of emphasis in the preparation for Miami? Maybe they saw something on tape that they see as opening up some opportunities. Or maybe they need to rest Slater?
