Lester Munson has doubled down on the stupid...

The league says it will not ask a court for the suspension to be upheld as it appeals the case, so Brady can play immediately. But there are reasons the league can and probably will succeed in its appeal of Berman's ruling:

Curran spoke with someone "very high in the organization," who said looking to overturn those penalties is not something they've yet discussed. However, Curran said the likelihood was "extremely remote" because of Patriots owner Robert Kraft's decision in May not to fight the discipline.

"To go back on that now would really cast Robert Kraft as someone going back on his word," said Curran. "As a result, it's highly, highly, highly unlikely that the Patriots would try to recoup those draft picks.

"However, there is an extreme feeling of validation (in the Patriots' organization) right now."

If he did nothing he would of faced more backlash. Goodell is not the biggest problem here. The system is flawed and what needs to be changed. Do you really feel that a different commissioner would of acted any other way? If you were making $44,000,000 plus a year would you not do what gave you the highest percentage of retaining your job the longest? Goodell is not going anywhere anytime soon. From my point of view, if I lacked morals and did what was best for me, I would of done the same thing if I were Roger Goodell.

See, I disagree with Curran. It would not be Mr. Kraft going back on his word. It would be him changing his mind in light of the clear cut evidence that the NFL lied to him about everything to do with this case.

Sorry, but you're talking out your rear-end here. Goodell IS the biggest problem. The system hasn't changed since Rozell was commissioner and you didn't have him or Tagliabue with these sorts of messes.

So, yes, a commissioner who truly acted impartially and within the letter of the CBA would have acted differently. The situation would never have come to this because it would never have started in the first place.

**** Kraft, he is weak.. There is no reason not to go after the picks. Even if you don't get them back with fighting you can at least publicly put it on record that the organization disagrees vehemently with everything..
