Logan Mankins article by Jackie McMullen

Why would you bring my name up when I've mostly avoided Mankins talk all season? Use someone else as your bogeyman.

I was going to comment on that myself.

I stayed away from the Mankins talk also, out of respect for those who didn't want to hear about him. But then another thread was started to mock the guy so I decided to step into this one.

Who is this guy Mankins?

OT: I took your advice and checked out that sniper documentary BT. It was awesome. Incredible. A real eye opener. ;) Thanks.

Logan made a choice that he felt was best for him. BB made a choice that he felt was best for the team. That's just the way things go sometimes. There are not bad guys in this thing.

The thing I didn't like is that Logan had to comment about "you can't say certain things up there" (the Patriots). Well Logan you have your $ and you are freer to talk under Lovie. If that's what you wanted then, you got it.
What was it you couldn't talk about that was repressing you while you were with the Patriots? Make the comment and not give details is not a very smart thing to do.
Interesting to me how the pattern seems to be: keep your yap shut and be a winner (Patriots), beatch and moan all you want and be a loser (elsewhere). Hmm. There must be something to this formula.

Do I sympathize with your optical fatigue at seeing yet another Thread with Mankins's name in it? Of course. Many subjects are done to dirt in any Fan Forum, I'm sure.
Maybe we need a new icon as there are definite player/subjects that we (PatsFan in general) love to beat a dead horse to such fine level that we basically atomize the poor beast.

I'd go ahead and list those subjects in one post, but I think that might be a bannable offense :D.

I'm glad he made his money. He was a fine player for us while he was here.

That said, he's dead to me.

OT Reply: Glad you enjoyed it  ......there are many heroes throughout the history of warfare. Every generation has their own. Growing up and being in the military in the 60's, Hathcock was someone who's reputation I had heard of and followed. I read the book "American Sniper" by Chris Kyle when it first came out and passed it on to my nephew who was in Afghanistan at the time.

American technology keeps our military ahead of the curve when it comes to innovation and keeping our soldiers safe. Laser range finders setting the detonation of explosive bullets precisely to kill targets behind covering structures is amazing.

One problem for both sides was that there was little way to offer Mankins an opportunity to recoup the money lost if he did agree to a paycut.

He played in 16 games so any 46-man active roster bonuses would be LTBE and count against the cap immediately.
He played in a very high percentage of offensive snaps.

Most of the possible applicable incentives would have to be really high to be NTLBE this year since the Patriots offense did so well in most of these categories, sacks allowed the notable exception.

OFFENSE
Points scored by Team - Pats scored 444 points last year
Touchdowns scored by Team - 44
Total offense (net yards) - 6194
Average net yards gained per rushing play -
Average net yards gained per passing play
Sacks allowed
Passing % completed

ALL
Wins
Playoffs
Conference Championship
Super Bowl

Back to the thread subject, please.

All I did was reply to an OT post.....Didn't mean to get anyone's pants in a bunch...

Mankins isn't a Patriot...do we expect him back with a new trade/contract?

Wading through all the laurels and stats accrued by this team Ive come to the same conclusion as I did back when I posted the TRADE MANKINS NOW thread years ago....Its his fault! I wont find it coincidental that he was the first pick made after we were THROWNED a dynasty. He played his worst games in the Super Bowl losses! And now, years later our path to the Super Bowl this year isnt suffering from him not being here! So for all the Mankins lovers over the years......thanks for nothing!

Gonna go with a no on this one. This is so disrespectful. He did a lot for this team.

Jeff, after being here 7 years and having 1435 posts, have you ever wondered why you only have 1 like?

This thread may be a good example.

This will surely end well...

I'm in.

Does he have a pit bull?

(j/k, relax pooch owners)

Ma, Ma!
Where's my Pa!
Out of the playoffs!
Ha Ha Ha!

Trivia question: What did I just parody?
Hint: It's >100 years old.

Ra ra sis-boom-ba!
Something something something AH!
