Money talks. Cowboys bring much more revenue for NFL than lions.

Edit: Whoops, post to a wrong thread

Interesting his family is still up here. They must like it.

The NFL made all their money before the playoffs even started. All the commercial time is booked up it wouldn't matter if Jacksonville and Tampa Bay made the Super Bowl at this point. They are getting their money.

Who is Logan Mankins? Oh, yeah. He plays for the Bucs, right? How are they doing in the post season?

I mean I'm not trying to bash the article or anything, I'm sure it is. I've just heard far more than enough talk about what went down in the Mankins situation than I've needed to. And many of these threads that start as an article tend to turn into these type of discussions I am talking about.

How about not clicking on the thread?

The problem with these types of stories is that you will never know the other side... unless BB or his inner circle writes a book a few years from now...

What I do know is that this O line, as much as it has been aligned, that in '13 Brady was sacked 40 times and this year he was sacked 26 times.. is it because Mankins is gone, the maturation of the line, new talent or coaching???

Probably it would be difficult to find another school for his kids so close to the start. Also he had to learn the playbook ASAP and live in a hotel. I also speculate the schools might be better in MA.

Skip this thread if it bothers you so much.

The truth is the only Mankins comments I've seen lately were shots being taken at the guy. Anyone (like myself) who was against the trade was pretty much told to shut up about it from the start.

And now we're finding out that it didn't come down the way the fans were led to believe at the time and another of Belichick's elves is upset because some of us want to hear about it. What a shocker.

Since you like to throw out the sack totals and claim it might be a result of the loss of Mankins, here's one for you;
2014 - 3.9/107.9
2013 - 4.4/129.1
Those are the Pats rushing numbers per carry/per game for the last two years... "is it because Mankins is gone, the maturation of the line, new talent or coaching???"

It's because we had no receivers last year and Ridley got injured.

Fair enough, but you cannot blame me for growing tired of seeing thread titles with the term "Mankins trade" inside of them seemingly every week months later. Surely you can relate, OTG?

You know there is an ignore feature and you really don't have to click on an thread.
This is a new article in which Mankins talks a bit about the situation. So it is worthy of a new thread. Some people will be interested in reading and commenting, others won't. Just move on if you are one of those not interested.

Leave it to Ian and the moderators to decide what is or isn't thread worthy. Thanks

Who is this guy Mankins?

Logan made a choice that he felt was best for him. BB made a choice that he felt was best for the team. That's just the way things go sometimes. There are not bad guys in this thing.

The thing I didn't like is that Logan had to comment about "you can't say certain things up there" (the Patriots). Well Logan you have your $ and you are freer to talk under Lovie. If that's what you wanted then, you got it.
What was it you couldn't talk about that was repressing you while you were with the Patriots? Make the comment and not give details is not a very smart thing to do.

The Pats lost their starting RB for 10 games this year and this is your argument?

You and Deus must have some sort of Mankins Fan club meeting

Mankins was a good player but he wasn't anywhere close to worth what his contract was, he acted like a ***** a few years ago to get a larger contract, and it bit him in the ass.

Why would you bring my name up when I've mostly avoided Mankins talk all season? Use someone else as your bogeyman.

How is it not the way we were told? Although I don't remember anyone 'telling' anyone anything. I remember -speculation-, which isn't the same thing. But in any event, being willing to 'rework' your contract doesn't really mean anything if you aren't willing to actually have your pay be brought in line with your current value.

I'm leaving it alone now and already settled what I felt earlier in this thread. With all due respect there is no use for you to continue calling me out on this any further.

Sorry, but I don't read football stories by Jackie Mac. She has a personal animosity toward Bill
that has clouded whatever objectivity she once had toward the Pats. She is always 100% pro-labor
and 100% anti-management (she used to write for the Glob, so it's in her professional DNA).
She should stick to NBA & MLB hero-worship.

Ridley had 2 less carries this year than Vereen and a lot more than Gray or Blount.

Here are more numbers you can try and talk around;
Player/YPC 2014/YPC 2013
Vereen/4.1/4.7
Blount/4.7/5
Ridley/3.6/4.3
Bolden/3.2/4.9
Every RB had much better numbers last year, including Ridley.
