Can Someone explain to me?

I doubt this board is different from any fan board in the country, with moods swinging rapidly and dramatically between irrational exuberance (wish I'd coined that one) and the depths of despair.

The truth is that the Pats and the Broncos both finish with similarly challenging schedules.

The Broncos host 7--5 Buffalo and have to play on the road at 8--4 San Diego and 8-3-1 Cincy before hosting the 1--11 Raiders on the final day of the season. The Pats also play against Buffalo and @ San Diego while they host another 7--5 Divisional Rival (Miami) and visit the 2--9 Jets. Either team could run the table and either team could lose at least one more game.

I think we should just worry about one Pats game at a time and let the Bronco's worry about their own problems. If you'd told me in September that you would let me have the Pats at 4--1 for the Denver, Indy, Detroit, Green Bay, San Diego run, I'd have taken it in a heartbeat. Now, there's a reasonable chance that that's how it's gonna end up. Then, I'll start worrying about Miami, which will have to play the Ravens before they make their way to Foxboro.

We are going to start another 7 game winning streak this week. I'm not worried one bit.

Just in time to RING in the New Year.

Who thinks the Pats will lose a game or two? They are going to win out...and so will the broncos

But they still have a long way to go

"I can't worry about what the other 31 teams are going. I don't want to say I don't care, but I really don't. I'm just concerned with our team. Other teams can do whatever they want."

Because people on this board don't take losses well. So the negativity spreads to the future.
So we should be happy about losses ? I was pretty cool about things, I was sad we lost, but it was a good game between two very good teams, so it wasn't like the blowout losses to Miami and KC. It was a bearable loss. That being said, I like what Revis said, he said he's never seen a team take a loss like that, they took it extremely hard. And I like that attitude, they don't take losses well.

I don't think it will be as easy as people think. SD is a tough team, and division games are NEVER easy, we have 3 losses, one against Miami and we ALMOST lost to the putrid Jets, who always give us a tough time. Miami is playing excellent football. They could easily be tied with us at 9-3 losing two last second games to good teams. I'm not as confident as you guys that we can win out. This reminds me of 2007 where we were crushing teams, and then the last few games were extremely close wins.

Yeah, the Jets always give the Pats a tough game. Other than those times with the butt fumbles and the epic blowouts of course.

No, you should not "be happy" about losses. But there is a middle ground between jumping for joy and moaning that we are going to lose HFA and that the Broncos will never lose another game, San Diego is a powerhouse, heck, even the Jets could take us, blah, blah, blah…..

Btw, the team can take the loss hard as they should but they need to get over it and soon. On to the next one. I can also guarantee you they are not pissing and moaning about what ifs either.

I agree with not relying on the Broncos losing another game. But this year I am not all that worried about going into Denver. One of the most underplayed story in the NFL right now is Manning looks to be in serious decline. Hence why I think Fox is so committed to running the ball. Manning was awful last night and this is the third game in five gamed where he has been mediocre to bad.
But still I think we'd all much rather have it in New England.

JEts game was a short Thursday night game. But it again will be the jets SB vs us...they will open up all stops but still won't be enough vs our secondary. MIA is at home and i expect revenge

we absolutely want it in NE. DEnver is undefeated at home and only lost 2 at home since manning took over

Honestly, I wouldn't even be concerned about Denver if they didn't have Terrance Knighton. He alone is their run defense at times. And we have the guys to match up with their receivers.

My true fear is that one of our divisional rivals sneak into the playoffs and knock us out like 2010.

As long as the Jets keep up the useful idiot act tonight I'm feeling pretty good about the division.

The Broncos were suppose to lose to the Chiefs (according to my dreams),the chargers simply find way to lose to Denver the same way Buffalo find way to lose to us. Chargers, Dolphins,Bills is tougher

GULP! knock out by Miami, dare you say?

This is a Straw Man Argument, right??

I don't scour the Boards anymore than I dial in to Idiot Radio, so I couldn't say, but I pray to God that, while all Fan Bases have their share of Fools & Cowards, there isn't actually a prevalence of such, hereabouts.

01 ~ Anyone who thinks that our "losing" a blatantly and disgustingly referee-aided Game in Green Bay, where the Packers are undefeated, signifies that the Packers are the better Team is a Moron. If these two Teams meet on Neutral Ground with fair officiating today, I'm laying 7 Points, thank you very much.

02 ~ Anyone who believes that the Broncos are a shoe-in for Victory any week, after having witnessed our Evisceration of them a few weeks ago, is a drooling Idiot.

03
~ Anyone who believe that the Broncos ~ who are 3-3 on the Road, same as us ~ should be expected to beat the 8-3-1 Bengals in Cincinnati, where they're 4-1-1...well, See Above.

04 ~ And anyone who still doesn't get the fact that Mad Bill annually employs September as an extension of Camp, that the Miami Victory then is therefore meaningless, and that we're probably going to slaughter those guys in December ~ I'm thinking "40 Burger" ~ well....See Above.

Our toughest contest is Dead Ahead, where in San Diego the Lightning Bolts are 5-1 at Home, including a Win over last Year's Champion SeaHawks and with a 3 Game Winning Streak...And the only thing worse than facing them, this coming Week, is of course facing us, after yesterday's officiating Atrocity.

Me, I think we demolish'm.

20 points or more is how I see it.

Our Jets game is an away game. The Raiders game is a home game for the Broncos. HUGE difference. Jets will still come to fight against the Pats in NY. Raiders will roll over and play dead after the 1st qtr in Denver.

Miami already beat us this year, while the Bengals always choke in the spotlight.

Both play in San Diego, but Denver is more familiar there.

I don't under and why people say things like "they almost lost" ...there is no such thing, you either win or lose. Period. I guess the other team "almost won" but didn't.

In saying that the Pats are spending the entire week in CA, business, no trips back to momma or screwing around, they are going to be all business. It's giving them extra time to prepare and they are pissed...I see SD going down hard on Sunday night.

Great thread title. Very descriptive. I think your premise is wrong. That is not a "consensus" at all. Has a poll been done?

I think more teams play scared and crap in their pants when they see manning unlike us and to an extent the chargers. I mean does anyone really trust Bengals on MNF to step up at home and beat manning. They are terrible in prime time games. Lost to the freaking browns.
