Perhaps so but, in the what have you done for me lately bracket, neither guy is much of anything when it comes to being a NFL player and are bordering on being busts. Maybe a change of scenery will help each out?

Yes, but Dobson's excuse is that he had a broken foot. What is Hunter's?

Can't say for sure but I might start with the fact that he's being tossed football by lousy QB's and plays on a woeful Titans team ...........

But he is the third best receiver on his team. I can see how his numbers are down because of the QB, but not his ranking among receivers on his team.

Josh Gordon put up 1600 yards in 14 games with Brandon Weeden and Jason Campbell

I don't think anyone, certainly not me, is mistaking Hunter for Gordon

Hunter has 9 receptions in 4 games.

34% catch rate. (9 catches 26 targets)
11.5% drop rate (3 drops)

Only 6 more receptions than he has drops.

He plays WR like he should be a CB.

If he was having an attitude for a while now. I don't blame the pats at all. If a one time thing then a bit harsh unless it was a major rant

What are we talking about here?

The pats only want to take good WR's and turn them into crappy ones

Hunter has 9 receptions in 4 games. Wright has 22. That is crap for both, but a significant difference.
Hunter also only has 38 yards less receiving.

In any case, if Hunter isn't the best WR on that team, he's close (and he's not 3rd best as you suggested). Which isn't saying he's a stud since both he and Wright suck. Not, unexpectedly however, given the crap both have for QB.

According to: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/oti/2014.htm

There's not much difference between Hunter and Wright for top WR producer's on that team.

That is ridiculous. Kendall Wright carried that team last season, he played every game and caught 94 balls out of 140 targets for 1,079 yards with 2 TDs and 52 first downs, the man averaged 11.5 a catch. He did that with how many QBs again in one season? 2-3? He also had a good rookie season, Justin Hunter has done NOTHING to be even mentioned in the same breath as Kendall Wright, he has had him beat since day 1.

I'm talking this year not last.

We are 4 weeks in. Kendall Wright has been consistent his 2 years in the NFL. Outside of Edelman, no one on the Pats has as many catches as Wright does and that's with the GOAT throwing to them. He has Locker and Whitehurst and still continues to draw consistent targets game in and game out. How does Justin Hunter compare to him again?

Should BB not care if a player performs like crap for an entire series? I'm pretty sure he'd have strong words for someone who took a series off, he'd probably go on about how a single play can change a game and this guy takes a series off?

I'm not being a bit dramatic, Belichick was.

To me, being benched for ONE series of a game is appropriate. You seem to feel differently.

I don't get blaming the coach, when it was obviously the player's fault for doing exactly what he was just told not to do? How can you seriously look past what Welker did and come up with the conclusion that it's somehow Belichick's fault?

Hell, guys miss a series when they have an equipment issue or something. Again, I see it as being a bit dramatic, but that's just my opinion. I certainly respect your point of view, even if I don't agree with it.

This year, Wright has totaled a whopping 38 more yards receiving than has Hunter. Wright has the edge when it comes to # of catches while Hunter has it for catch average and longest reception. Neither are much for producing TD's (1 TD for Wright vs 0 for Hunter).

At their current production rates .... by years end, Wright will total 704 yards while Hunter will total 552 yards. Neither are impressive totals.

Mods feel free to change this thread Title to whatever you feel is appropriate. Probably less obnoxious than opening more Aaron Dobson threads.
Yup so typical of this forum in recent years. Biggest news of the young season, conveying info critical of team hierarchy, gets subsumed in a ridiculously vague thread, burying the negative info in a blizzard of garbage. As usual these days when real news breaks no reason to come to Patsfans anymore, no point coming to this forum to wade through 20 pages of irrelevant crap to find out what's happening. It's so embarrassing.

SMY and Reiss' reports aren't mutually exclusive. Hypothetically he may have both struggled in practice then mouthed off about not being given a bigger role.

I think this is what's happening, actually--whether that be struggling in film study, practice, attitude, or any meshing of the three.
