Deion Branch and the WR situation.

And what great football acumen do you have to make this statement. Just to show how little you know, that ball goes over BOTH Edelman and Branch's head. At worst it was a bad throw by Brady, at best it was a great play by the Washington DB. This comment was so bad it belongs on the game day thread ;)

Wilson is 5'9" same height as Jules and Branch so I don't see it gong over their heads, The match up was 2 guys running similar 40 times, Tiq with a 5 inch vertical advantage and 4 inches of height to boot. He anticipated incorrectly and jumped to early for the ball allowing Josh gain an extra step and make a nice leaping larry grab. He should've played the ball better but sailing it out of the EZ was the safest bet to ensure 3 points as well.

That being said, I hope Branches groin is in check for this weeks game.

yes, let's not forget that due to our shortcomings on defense, we actually have a serviceable wide receiver (Julian Edelman) that is not even playing his actual NFL position.

Maybe it's time to put Edelman back on offense.

This week might be Ochocinco's big breakout week. I say that because of the sad and old state of the Broncos secondary.

The Broncos secondary is banged up and the geezers - Brian Dawkins and Champ Bailey - are incapable of covering Branch and Ocho and Underwood on deep routes. The Broncos have rookies and re-treads (Jonathan Wilhite, anyone?) back there. Bruton and Goodman are hurt.

Five wide will come up a lot. Gronk, Hernandez and Welker keep the linebackers home while some combo of the three speedsters take off up the seams and on crossing patterns to pull the safeties out of their cover two lanes. Brady should have a good day if the line gives him the time he needs.

That Bears - Broncos game was bizarre: 0 - 0 after three quarters is ridiculous. The Patriots need to put two TDs on the board in the first half to apply pressure to the Broncos to keep up. If the Broncos can keep up like the Redskins, did, well....God Bless 'Em. But I do not think they can.

14 weeks into the regular season - broken record with the same result.

Who is this Ocho Cinco fans talk about?

Some celebrity on Twitter who just hosted a dinner for an Emerson College class studying the significance of social media...

I'd love it if we pursued DeSean Jackson this offseason. I realize he has been quite a prima donna this year with the Eagles, but I think he represents the type of player who will perform and be respectful when he is (a) paid and (b) on a winning team.

There's just no way the Patriots are going to pay him the money he wants. He is a diva but man he is fast. He is exactly the kind of WR we need, without the attitude.

It was definately a "weak" effort to attack and go after a football from Underwood. I am not justifying Brady's pass, it wasn't his best that's for sure, but if you watch Underwood on that play, he almost looked like a D3 college WR getting physically overmatched for a football. Like TB told, "fight for it, go after it"

After seeing a breakdown, Underwood definitely made a mistake not cutting at a direct right angle versus what he did which was fade toward the back of the end zone after the cut. However, everyone is forgetting the hold. Surprised it didn't get called by the refs as a stretched jersey (which Underwood's jersey was stretched) almost always draws the flag. And in this instance, that hold was the difference between a fantastic, stretched out, finger tip interception and a defender who would have been a solid foot or two behind Underwood.

You need to spread the spying duties around. Fletcher should be doing some of it, too, but I would think that as another option quarterback, Edelman might be able to recognize scenarios where Tebow's likely to take off a little bit faster than Fletcher.

Kent State isn't / wasn't an Option team, and an Option QB wouldn't be more able to defend Tebow anyway.

Underwood has the funniest looking hair.

They're not strictly speaking an "option" team, but Edelman was Kent State's leading rusher his senior year, so I think his QBing style was closer to Tebow's is than Brady's.

Branch downgraded to out vs Denver.

Underwood has deep speed and Ochocinco doesn't. I expect to see some more Underwood this week.
