I have read it and I understand it. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think the goal of our defense is to allow a completion on every play.
Everyone needs to stop thinking the other poster is automatically being ridiculous and extreme. I'm not saying we aren't going to win a game with Hobbs at CB. I'm just saying if you look at how strong the rest of our team is, it's pretty obvious (and has been since 2005) that the CB position is the weakest part of the defense.
Your last statement proves you don't know what you are talking about. Sorry, you don't. The weakest part of the defense during the 2005, 2006, and 2007 seasons was the LINEBACKER position. Since you need a reminder, it was during those seasons that the Pats had 1 major injury at that position and it hurt the defense immensely. In 2005, it was Bruschi's stroke and TJ's concussion issues. In 2006, the Pats lost Seau with 6 weeks remaining and they couldn't sustain. In 2007, they lost Colvin.
Now, in 2005, the Pats also did have a merry-go-round in the secondary, having 7 guys go onto the IR during the 1st 6 weeks. But that is something you just can not plan for. I don't care how good of a coach you are.
Also, during the AFCG against the Colts in 2006, not having a LB who was able to contend with Dallas Clark allowed the Colts to have a field day.
I can understand your frustration about Hobbs, though I do not agree with you. You do need to stop exaggerating and you need to get your facts straight.
