Andrews charged with alleged gun assault
The Attleboro Sun Chronicle earlier today reported that Patriots defensive back
Willie Andrews, who was arrested in February for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon by Mansfield police after he allegedly pointed a 9-mm handgun at his girlfriend’s head after she accused him of cheating on her. The incident reportedly took place at
Andrews’ Mansfield residence.
“He came home and was waving a gun (9 mm Glock) and touched my temple. He continued waving the gun as he started throwing items into my suitcase and onto the floor,” the woman wrote in a statement to police, the report said.
The Patriots, meanwhile, just released the following statement: “The New England Patriots take the conduct of our players very seriously. We are aware of the very disturbing and alarming reports regarding Willie Andrews. We will not offer any additional comment, as is our policy regarding pending legal matters.”
Andrews February arrest in Lowell was continued without a finding.
