I think the AFC East division becomes MUCH tougher with other 3 teams FA pickups

Ok, let's take a look at last year. Which team came from nowhere and shockingly made the playoffs, and which contender really struggled?

Also, the Bills were better than the Jets last season even with all their injuries. They've made some moves in free agency, too. That's a better team overall than the Jets right now. The question there is quarterback. Sounds familiar, I'd imagine......

The year before, wasn't it the Jets??? With a much weaker team than now may I add.

The Titans were expected by many to really struggle last season after they lost their #1 CB,#1 WR and #1 RB, they weren't expected to be a playoff team.

Also if you read my original post I said teams come from nowhere and turn into playoff contenders, like Cleveland for example, who had every chance to make the playoffs this season. Suppose that was expected too.

Surprises hapen in this league EVERY YEAR!!!

by the way I think the AFC East will breakdown like this

Pats: 12-4
Jets: 9-7

IMO:

Patriots 13-3
Jets 10-6
Bills 8-8 (I think they'll have injury problems, too many prone players IMO)
Phins 3-13

the rest of the afc east or nfl: who cares.

I wonder how that would play out this time :)

well the 3 years ago...lost the in divisonal round, worked hard, came back, lost in the afc championship game. This year, lost in the superbowl, so I guess it means we work hard and go one up and win the superbowl this year. Its all about learning from last year and making yourself better.

Unfortunately the NFL does not work that way

right now the Rats can't be considered any better than 6-10.... Clemens, cancer Coles, defensive line questions, lack of WR depth...all they've done so far is take a pig and put a dress and lipstick on it...it's STILL a pig. Maybe the draft will change that...I'll stay tuned

:rolleyes:A typical Pats fan homer opinion. If you think there is no way we have a chance to win more then six with the talent we added and the easy schedule then you are being a homer. Our running game alone will win us 3 or 4 games next year. If we get McFadden, add him to a team with Jones, Leon, plus and vastly improved o-line and Tony Richardson blocking at FB. that is a rushing attack whihc will finish in the top ten in the NFL. Quote me on that

keep dreaming, I'll wake you up when the real season begins.

Name me ten teams right now who you would predict to have a better rushing attack then the Jets next year we if paired McFadden with Thomas Jones. In front of our o-line and a Pro Bowl FB considered top 3 right now in the NFL.

All I said was we will finishing with a top ten rushing game w/ McFadden and its ridiculous to say we have no chance of winning more then 6 games

I would take the Jets over falcons (McFadden + Jones> Turner + Norwood) , titans, browns, and 49ers( their rushing games was not even that good last year)

Turner is a beast in waiting, mcfadden equals less physical reggie bush.
Would rather have felix jones.
I hope the Jet's do draft mcfadden, then Gholston and groves can punch him in the mouth twice as year.

The safest thing the jets could do to keep mangini's job and tannenbaums is to draft a first round quaterback even in a trade down.
Cause they can keep telling Woody.
Hey this guy isn't ready yet and Manjudas would be a big enough coward/ p#ussy to do that.

I lost respect for you with that Bush comment. Watching both for their entiere career it is a joke to even put McFadden and Bush in the same breath physically. Coming into the NFL everyone knew that Bush would need another guy with him. McFadden is better built to carry the load and is a full time back. Once again, McFadden+Jones>Turner + Norwood. Also factor in we have Tony Richardson and a much improved o-line. Also how are you drafting Vernon Gholston and Quentin Groves both with your 7th pick?

That would of been my ideal scenario, Vernon and Groves, but you coach blew the whistle on something he regularly took part of for years.
We still can I believe that if the Patriots believe there are two amazing players in this draft.
They could use the second and third and trade up for groves.
After they'd draft gholston with the seventh.
Mcfadden is an amazing COLLEGE player, he has incredible speed at the COLLEGE level.
But once these safeties and linebackers are bigger and faster.
Once he's in a offense not tailored around for him.
Once he's in the nfl where defensive coaches look at every tendency and twitch to tell if he's getting the ball before he ever does.
He will not be a probowler I happen to think Jerious Norwood is a excellent back and under utilized this far in Atlanta.
With the new coach being a hard nosed guy and so many question marks at qb.
You have to believe they will run alot more.
Micheal Turner can run over and past guys where Mcfadden hasn't proven anything at the professional level yet, according to a draft guru like Mike Mayock Mcfadden is stopped at point of contact doesn't have the power in the legs to run off of players.
Runs too upright, had a fumbling problem in college.
He will sell alot of jerseys i don't doubt that but win games?
I'd have to say no.
