but he will be looked at very hard, if we can get him in the 3rd round, go for it....if we can get him in the second, debate it....
but that all depends on what they think cassell can do....
He didn't look that great in Miami but I haven't seen enough of Cassel to think that we need an emergency replacement in the draft. I'd like to see BB sit Brady for most of the Giants game and let Cassel show his stuff.
dead wrong buddy. ryan is the only reason why they r still in the mix for the acc title. how good ur team is doesnt matter when it comes to the draft. ryan is still going top 20 guarenteed.
The ACC sucks. Not too hard to be in the mix.
Ryan is not a first rounder, not close. I would take Tebow in the the 3rd long before Ryan.
The patriots are most unlikely to use a 1st on a QB, certainly not a top 10 pick.
Tell that to ESPN. Scouts, Inc. has Ryan as the 6th best prospect in all of college football. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft08/index
As for Tebow, it's a little easier throwing to Percy Harvin and Andre Caldwell than it is throwing to Brandon Robinson and Kevin Challenger.
I would love to see the Pats take Chris Long, Howie's kid, and move him to the Jumbo like McGinest.
Whats the one position where the Patriots empire is most vunerable?
I submit that everything comes crashing down, winning Super Bowls-wise, if Tom Brady goes down. What sustained the great 49er dynasty, and turned it from a 10 year reign, to a 18 year reign, was having Steve Young to replace Joe Montana.
If the Patriots get a very high pick from the 49ers fall this year, I think they should use it to draft the very best QB available. Im looking long term here, they must find Tom Brady's replacement now, as time does march on.
Any other injury or loss they can recover from, but not a Brady injury. I'd love to see a guy like Matt Ryan being groomed to take over. Im not convinced if Brady gets hurt tonight that a Matt Cassell can take them anywhere. So they need to think big with this potential high pick.
Think Montana and Young. How many draft picks is 8 years of a continued dynasty worth?
Aside from Ryan, BC wouldn't even be a bowl team...even in the ACC. Ryan needs to go to a team where he can sit a year, learn the speed of the Pro game and put on some weight. Green Bay maybe?
The guy is 6'5", strong arm, smart, good pocket awareness and has shown solid leadership skills. What else do you want?

ok, ok. I shouldnt have said the name Matt Ryan. My bad.
the IDEA is regarding dealing with the backup QB issue. I dont feel its a good idea to have this historically great team one hit away from being a 10-6 at best team.
We need a solid NFL backup. If not the high draft pick, what are the best ways to do it?
Lots of guys are like that. Doesn't make them a 'sure thing', far from it. And it doesn't make them even worth a 1st, no matter what anyone says.
I've seen him play numerous times...he overthrows open receivers all the time. I don't think he's anything special...and you'd have to pay him millions to sit on the bench if he's drafting in the top part of round 1....plus you'd miss out on a good player who could actually help the team.
